They even gave him a jersey with double zero on the back, as in "oo oo ah ah."

Yeah, a woman I knew who was an operator and very nice looking (very, very rare). Had some personal problems ongoing with her husband and really didn't care for her job. The shift supervisor told her to do something out in the plant. She lost it. I don't know what she said in the control room but she came storming out and started slinging tools off of her belt. Channel locks, pipe wrench, etc. Kept going out the guard gate and was never seen in the plant again.

I ran into her in the mall a year later. She was doing well, divorced her husband, new job, and had no regrets.

You know, now that you mention it, he was always asking people to call him that.

Guy definitely had an anger management issue, and that was apparent well before the car incident. A couple years earlier he punched a hole in the office wall when he couldn't find his phone. He was convinced someone was hiding it from him

Yeah, as a matter of fact he did. Actually, he left the company a few years back and now he's beet farming full time these days.

Man those were some crazy times, I wish there was some way all those work-place antics could have been documented and displayed for public viewing.

There's a lot of stress... and usually women were involved. A sonar tech on my first boat came back from sea, found out his wife was cheating on him, locked his 2 young kids in a closet, then shot his wife before shooting himself.

There was a BM1 stationed at the amphib base. He found out his wife cheated during deployment after they pulled in. He had proof on a land line telephone bill. He was the mess cook on a ship with a verysmall crew. He had duty one night and left the ship, went home and wrapped the telephone cord around his wifes neck and killed her. Drove back to ship like nothing happened.

Pretty sure the beet farmer is a detective now and everyone else at your office isn't working anymore.

I was pretty young back then, no older than 22, so I was a little intimidated when he was having his tirade, but never thought he would hit me. When he came out of the boss's office, I told him that my middle name wasn't really Kyle.

I loved working with that nut job, and I still keep in touch with his wife. He eventually had a nervous breakdown due to job related stress, but I think that fat frick was faking it.

A coworker came into my office a while back to let me knowshe would be out for a couple of months due to personal matters. She was talking to me about taking over a project when the bat shite crazy guy, who is a friend, in the office across the hall made a light hearted comment. The two already disliked one another so this just topped it all off for her. She slammed my door, he said what the frick is your problem you crazy bitch, she walked into his office and proceeded to melt like a got damn ice cube in a frying pan. He asked again what the frick her problem was, again with the crazy bitch added. She slammed a few doors called him every name in the book. He took it like a boss and proceeded along like nothing happened after it was over.
In the end people lost their jobs and I ended up having to give a statement and sign some forms.

They used to. Banned it in 2010 I believe. I got out in 2009 and there were still 2 smoking pits onboard, one by the diesel, and one near the shaft seals.

It was banned when smoking on board all ships got banned huh?

I have never really thought about this but if you can't smoke on a sub, it would be beyond batshit crazy, huh? Do guys still play spades and bet their entire paychecks even if they have a wife and 4 kids at home?

I was working for a law firm as a file clerk while I was in undergrad. I learned that we were hiring a paralegal that had been let go several years earlier for drinking on the job. Fast Forward a few months later when the lady came in excited about closing on a new home. she left for the closing mid morning and we had a phone call from the sheriff a few hours later. She had been found completely incoherent, lying on the corner outside our building with no shoes. Not sure what caused the meltdown but it was the first I've seen.

Our department's secretary went bat shite one day. She thought her job was beneath her so little things like picking up the phone or making copies would send her into a rage. That was her job by the way. Anyway one day she loses her phone. A coworker found it the next day, emailed her that she found it and was going to set it on her desk. Well the lady came in, claimed she stole it, hid it, and looked through it. She yelled "those pictures of the penises are not mine, a guy I met off of Match.com sent them and I told him I was going to call the police". Everyone just kind of stared at her like WHAT THE frick? She resigned the next day and claimed people were out to get her. She was 62 by the way. Crazy old bitch.
