Wow! How did you live with yourself after that? I mean I am not saying it's your fault or anything.
The girl was walking chaos. We hashed it out - there were 3 of us on the management team (really 4, but 3 who handled this) - the female on the management team said, "Look. This girl went through a lot before she got here. This was a pretty safe place for her to land. We didn't fire her - just sent her home early on a Friday. I don't know what else we could have done. She did not appear to be a threat to herself or others. We all just assumed she was going to get on a plane and fly to where this guy was and confront him about this email breakup."
And, with that wisdom, we moved on. It was a sad situation, but I agree - we didn't do anything to make her situation worse.

Unfortunately, yes. The girl went home and killed herself after being excused for the day. I was part of the management team.

That's horrible man.

Wasn't at work, but I went to school with a certified loon, he called himself the Bi Polar Roller (was on elimidate)
One time in class he got mad at teacher and started throwing desk and chairs and then started stripping down. Each item he took off he would say something like "I don't need this $400 Versace shirt, I don't need this $250 Gucci belt and would take each item off. He would always say his dad was in the Persian Mafia or some shite.
Finally he was left just in his boxers and socks still throwing chairs.
Stuff like this happened weekly it seemed.

You were crying because of mean words in an e-mail? Just gotta let that stuff go in one ear and out the other.

Apparently. I don't want to speak ill of the dead. It didn't make sense. She had more than 1 married boyfriend - and 1 of them broke up with her over email. None of them even lived in her home city. And she was working on a new relationship with someone at the office (this was an ad hoc work environment with people from all over the country - but she was a local hire.)
Just confusing and sad. The girl was very smart and very good-looking.

She was a lawyer too? Women lawyers are cray-cray.

Are you guessing because I'm a lawyer, or do you know the situation?
(Yes. She was a lawyer.)

I was like 19 at the time, before I got any bit of a backbone.

We had a guy go absolutely crazy.
Professional business office of a well-established company.
The guy starts coming up with these theories on business drivers and, despite everyone in the company telling him to back off, he keeps sending 2am emails forcefully telling VP's they are wrong.
The decision is made to fire him. He doesn't show up at the "You are getting fired" offsite meeting.
Emails the whole company telling them he knows shite and wants $400K to keep silent, as a severance package. Keeps sending these emails, personally bashing people, threatening to beat the shite out of everyone. Copies some 80 people on nearly every email.
Texts and emails continue. We find out that he's been arrested and then released after stealing meds from a local hospital. Then he's arrested after a DWI and a gun in his lap driving near the office.
He gets out of jail pretty quick. We hire a security service, and cops do drive-bys at our houses to make sure our families are safe after he makes threats.
He's arrested again with a gun.
He confronts the CEO of our largest client at church and tries to bash the company
Arrested again with gun, locked up for a while now.

We had a staff accountant have a miscarriage in the bathroom at work on morning... she was fairly messed up for awhile. She was so embarrassed... said she always felt like everyone was whispering about her and looking at her that she transferred to another department... doing quite well now.

I had a co-worker snap on me. He was having problems at home with his son, named Kyle. He was telling a story and I was half listening and when he said the name "Kyle," I chimed in and said "My middle name is Kyle."
He snapped, stood up started cursing at me, picked up a folding chair held it up told me he'd crush my skull and then flung it against the wall. Then he went into the bosses office and cried for a while.

Well - I didn't give names, dates or even locations, but if someone were aware of the situation, I might have given them enough to make a guess that maybe they knew her. I considered that might have been what you were doing.
