I just think its stupid and lazy of the network.

Actually, it's not. The NCAA and the networks agree to use whatever name the schools request via the press guideline issued by the school. UL Lafayette has requested to be called either Louisiana Lafayette or simply Louisiana and specifically not UL or ULL. The networks are just following the rules they agreed to.

As an alumnus of USL, I sincerely wish they had kept that name. Personally, I prefer ULL now.

I feel triggered by this, is there a statue of Louisiana we can deface and tear down?

I volunteer that stupid fricking boot trophy that was forced upon us along with Arkansas.

Have posted this before. U La La is a small school, in a small town, with a small fan base, with a small stadium and ZERO tradition. They are the Hillary of football pretending to be relevant when they are nothing but perineal losers.

That's actually embarrassing. It implies we are all dumbass Cajuns and that is the furthest thing from the truth.

U La La is a small school

A quick Google search returns a total ULL enrollment of 19,188 in 2016 and an LSU total enrollment of 31,572 for 2015. So, that makes ULL about 2/3 the size of LSU. Is LSU a medium sized school, by your estimation, because it is a fricking lightweight when compared to other schools in the SEC, like A&M with over 65,000 total students.

ULL is NOT a small school in comparison to LSU. You can throw lots of other stones at ULL (and I do enjoy lobbing stones and riling them up), but you look like a fricking idiot when you try to claim they're a small school and LSU is some kind of massive behemoth in comparison.

Considering the education there is equivalent to a community college, I would say 19k is a lot.. Most community colleges have a few thousand students at best.

A quick Google search also shows SLU's enrollment in 2016 at 15k... so ULoL is just a little bigger than a D1AA program

Are you really this insecure about the status of LSU?

Oh that's rich. If LSU fans are insecure, then why is ULL changing it's name?

Why are so many LSU fans so sensitive about this? As a LSU fan, I also like UL/ULL and if they are trying to improve their place in the world by calling themselves Louisiana I'm all for it. I know people from there and none of them think UL is the flagship university. LSU will always be that.

Were UT fans so touchy when SW Texas State switched to Texas State?

Folks should look at page 12 of the most recent state auditor's report issued Feb. 15, 2017 and ask themselves if this is a program that should represent the state in the manner Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, etc. represent those states.

Examples:

Total football revenue: $1.5 million

Direct Institutional Support (taxpayer subsidy): $12.1 million (47% of "revenue")

2016 ULL Athletic Dept.

You are a minuscule school. Since you like research see how big the LSU athletic budget is and how LSU and the taxpayers of the state charitably grant you enough money to field any team in any sport. You are a welfare case and LSU is Bill Gates. Now sit down and shut up you bother me.
