I'll admit that he's relatively mature for his age, but he is naive as hell.

I'm just saying that his new faith in god & lifestyle with this girl is the polar opposite of what he's been doing. It's too much of an extreme.

I cringe when I hear the quote above.

Ditto.

I can understand how you glorify God as an individual, but I'm curious how a relationship is utilized as a outlet for such worship.

If he was into heavy drugs and random fornicating, he was always chasing some sort of 'extreme' and most likely has an 'addictive' personality.

It may not beg too many questions, how the transformation can be plausible.

For a 19 year old? I'd say he swings from one extreme to the other too much. Which gives me the impression that his current lifestyle isn't going to last long.

Ask your pastor or his of you really are curious as to what he means when he says this.

People here can guess, but they don't know your roommate or the depth and knowledge of his new found faith.

You say the purpose of your relationship is something more than just getting your dick wet, but you didn't say what that purpose or those purposes were. Is his question bothering you because you don't know how to answer that question? Or is it just because you feel he is being judgmental of your relationship because he believes his relationship has a higher purpose?

I agree.

However, some people imply that unless you plan on marrying your partner then all you are doing is wasting each other's time.

This girl better be white hot.

I can think of a few regrets in college. Most involve passing on poon. Can't imagine passing on ALL poon. For Jesus.

"I'm not here to tell you about Jesus. You already know about Jesus. He lives in your heart or he doesn't. ". Don draper. Then tell him you're here to drink beer and sprays sloots guts.

Are you trying to say some 19 year old has lived a wild and crazy life, one of booze, drugs and debauchery?

Dumb youngsters are dumb. That's you OP. That's you.

20 years ago my roommate did the same thing. They married and are both very happy and have a great family.

The odds are against him but maybe this will be a good thing.

I think it was obvious he was referring to romantic/sexual relationships. And frankly, even God agrees with him (though I think the bible uses different languange to say it).

So I'm assuming your roommate would tell me that my banging a stripper on the reg does nothing to glorify God? I'd disagree, but to each his own.

Sorry. I don't know your tone here and missed the joke. My fault.
