I still use email for work and for stuff I order online,
but since my 80+year old mother finally started texting, I don't think I've emailed anyone in quite a while.

Yes, my mom still emails. And I have a friend that got rid of his cell phone and the only way I can reach him is through email.

I hate my personal email. It serves a purpose I guess, but I hate when my phone gives me a notification and it's a personal email.

Find it useful for organizing bachelorette parties and catching a good sale.

I do some for most automated things, and for emailing people I don't have cell numbers for.

I'm on a listserv with my college buddies, and I love it. We talk politics, religion, life, sports, and everything else on it. And it is better than a group text because my phone isn't buzzing constantly. And emails are easier to follow.

I wouldn't wish group text upon my worst enemy.

Yeah. I hate group texts. But Google Groups is pretty much the greatest invention ever.

Planning vacations, weekends, parties, social gatherings, online commerce, personal reminders (through Google calendars), etc, etc.

I get as much traffic through my personal e-mail as I do through any of my other e-mails.

I'm in one with four others that won't die. One is a super rich dickhead that travels the country for his work. Two others are good ole boys like me, and the other one would suck Les Miles' dick in the Eye before the coin toss of the Bama game. It makes for good comedy during the day.

Ditto. A lot of my messages are more like short letters; texting is too cumbersome for that.

I still don't see why people don't call one another when they have something important to say. Perhaps we just have little of importance to say these days.

Anyway, it seems to me texting is most appropriate for transmitting simpler messages like "yo, what up?" and that sort of thing.
