Ya, I have to do further reading into it. The Paul Bonnaci guy I felt sorry for (taking the key parts of his statements as truth), even though he ended up molesting some kids as well. You can tell they really fricked him up good, and he didn't have a chance NOT to be pedo really.

Seemed like he was able to get his life back together though.

I just edited as you posted. I don't know what to believe of his stories to be honest. He was just the key part of the documentary, which I know is always going to show the story that most fits the theme of the doc. I only watched it a few days ago so no chance to do the research into his claims that apparently is demanded now.

In any event, we already know if you are molested your odds of being a pedo go way up, so its just sad for victims.

I live in Crowley and it was in the news and discussed all the time - lots of rumors.
Last body was dumped on the side of I-10 on the Egan overpass. I always thought he was driving East on I-10 (with the body) looking for a place away from Jennings to dump her. For some reason he turned back heading west (back to Jennings) and he dumped her right off of I-10 (the body could be seen from the interstate). Then he quit!
I believe something spooked him and he just wanted to get the body out of his car. Maybe he was making a statement by putting her in plain sight - probably will never know as it did appear the police could not or would not solve the case.

This thread sent me down a Wikipedia wormhole that led me to discover that a missing persons case from like 1989 was just solved a couple days ago:

It tends to help when the long time prime suspect is convicted on other charges and finally confesses.

only read ethans book about the "cannibal" case in the quarter... but it was decent. i think this just got added to my reading list.

if nothing else, it should be a good story.

Jennings has a dark side for sure. i mean they have like 5k people so it's not going to compare to a place like BR/Nola with 100x the population

IIRC, it was speculated that the main suspect in the Jennings 8 case may have since died.

If so, the murders stop, the case goes cold, the public forgets, and anyone who obstructed justice (maybe LEOs) go on with their lives.

Hadn't read up on that story in over a year though.

Most of the girls were low rent pros. They almost all had ties to the hotel and one particular drug house. One of the girls set up at least one other to be killed.

The drug house occupant let the girls crash there. He had many visitors with a lot arriving in police cars for social visits.

A truck that was known to transport one of the bodies was confiscated and sold to a detective. He cleaned it and detailed it before it could be processed by the crime lab.

The girls were all killed by different groups in the same circle. Some knew it was coming and told their families goodbye within a day or two of being killed.

The Task force that was set up seemed to get nowhere. It had State and FBI LEO's on it.

The whole thing was a huge vicious circle and it was dirty as hell in it's LE connections.

actually picked up the book and about 75% through it at the moment.

its not the most complete research that i have seen out of a crime story, but id imagine that anyone even vaguely familiar with the area would find it really interesting. im hoping the last quarter of it is a little tighter though.
