re: Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - any good outcomes? - lovelsu
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am sorry I did not respond sooner but I just noticed the thread bump. We went to MD Anderson last week. The facilities were impressive but their prognosis and treatment plan were the same as my local oncologist. As it is becoming more uncomfortable for me to be in a ...
Can you describe the symptoms you had in more detail. You mentioned back and rib pains
It was really odd. Had a colonoscopy and endoscopy because of stomach pains doctor who swore it was gastritis and I kept insisting my back was killing me and I thought it was not gastritis. Every...

LC, I am so sorry about your dad. My oncologist does want me on a low carb diet. That is easy for me as I have done low carb from when it first came out and was known as the bourbon & beef diet ;) Right now my health is great except for trying to get the bile out of my body. I feel better then I ...

I will definitely email you - my roommate from college was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer back in July and she has been able to give me pointers on what to expect, websites and of course been my rock. I had both Dr. Traywick and Dr. Jacque Noelle working on me at the same time. Dr. Noelle...

Hi neighbor - I am from Crowley. I am sorry to hear you are battling uterine cancer. Girl, I know what you are talking about with the back and ribs hurting, that was what was hurting so bad on me. But, it turned out to be a good thing as my doctor kept saying it was just gastritis and I kept insist...

Yes, there are some great posters on here. Long time lurker but don't post very often. Was a little hesitant to post this thread because I did not want anyone thinking I wanted a pity party. I really was looking for any good outcomes. When you look on the web it is just depressing!...

re: Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - any good outcomes? - lovelsu
NB, I have never been a person who has regrets. Every major decision I made in my life I did not/could not regret - I just chalked them up to life experiences. Things I might have done a little differently, sure. But really no regrets....

re: Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - any good outcomes? - lovelsu
Hi everyone, Seems I have been remiss and not paying attention to my thread. Just to let everyone know after all of the advice, my husband and I have discussed it and we are going to go to MD Anderson and have a consultation to see what they have to say. Gonna first hear what my current oncologis...

I am so sorry to hear of your father and your diagnosis - wish I had advice but I am just starting this journey so not sure what to expect - sounds as if they caught it early. Realized in your earlier email you are living in Juneau - it was actually named after my great, great grandfather (not su...

I know of your Uncle (attended Notre Dame). Is he your dad's brother? Sad they both have cancer but sounds like your uncle beat it and your dad is putting up a good fight also. You need to be careful and keep getting checkups as it runs in your family. Sad part no one in my family ever had c...

Thank you for the prayers. Actually, plan on going to Charlene Richard's grave and praying this week. If you have never heard of her she is called the little Cajun Saint and has been known for some miracles. Not cannonized but sad story. [link=(http://www.holymotherchurch.org/1515298.html)]The...

My friend who has esophageal cancer has been drinking the essiac tea and is having chemo. After 3 chemo sessions her tumor was reduced by 40%! Not sure if it was the chemo or essiac or a combination of both but she believes so that is a good thing. Have you heard of Onivyde in the treatment of pa...

Sounds like you read my results! Again I am repeating what my husband told me that the doctor relayed to him so some of the particulars were lost in translation. The few things I know are stage 3B and two arteries or veins have been enveloped by the tumor and the liver and pancreas are involved. Y...
