re: Sanchez pleads guilty to Lockhart murder - the Bourbon Street dancer - lovelsu
Was just coming to post this about her being friends with the murder/suicide couple that was an even more gruesome case.[link=(http://wgno.com/2014/11/06/documentary-includes-margaret-sanchezs-theory-on-friends-murder-suicide/)]LINK[/link]...

re: Running threw tollbooth EZ Pass with a Rental Car - lovelsu
Happened to me in Dallas and there was no toll booth, just a warning I was entering a toll road but my exit was 1/2 a mile away and I thought it did not turn into toll road unless I got to a toll both - anyway the charged my credit card on file with the rental car company $15 or something around the...

re: Prince has died - lovelsu
RIP - Beautiful one! Interesting, according to Wiki both sets of his grandparents were from Louisiana. Could not find any more details or anything on remaining family members except he has/had a sister. Found a link to Huffington Post  but gives a little detail on his Louisiana c...

re: Favorite Festival/fair food and which Festival - lovelsu
FYI - Not sure if you ever make it to SW LA but I just noticed Don's in Scott has several types of Prejean's Gumbo. I did not see the pheasant but two or three kinds of Prejean's Gumbo....

re: Favorite Festival/fair food and which Festival - lovelsu
At Jazz Fest is it a pork chop or pork steak? Just curious as the ones at Rice Festival are a pork steak slapped between two slices of bread, it just hangs off the sides of the bread. You really feel like a caveman (or woman) eating one. But oh, so good ...

re: Favorite Festival/fair food and which Festival - lovelsu
I thought I had tried everything from them but never the chicken! Will definitely try it come October. I love the look on people's faces who have never eaten the pork steak sandwich. When they open it up and it is just hanging off the sides, the look on their face is priceless  We usually ...

Favorite Festival/fair food and which Festival - lovelsu
My husband and I are planning on checking out some different festivals this year. One unique thing I love about the Louisiana festivals is how each one seems to have a local vendor that has a special item. Would love to hear different festival favorites. Mine - Pork Steak sandwich from the chur...

re: Check out this amazing LSU painting my Grandma gave to me today - lovelsu
Rodrique had done one very similar when they were taking donations for Mike's habitat. They were signed and numbered (I don't remember how many were in the series) and they were $500. I kept thinking about getting one and when I finally was ready to pull the trigger they had sold out. I think he a...

re: Smoking A Turkey Question - lovelsu
On my electric smoker that averages 250 we put it on around 4:00 AM and it is usually done by 11:00 AM. One year we had an issue because it was cold and windy and smoker could not stay at temp - once we found a place to put it out of the wind the problem was solved (that ended up being a late Chris...

re: Masterbuilt 40 in. Electric Smoker Vs. 22 in. Weber Smokey Mountain - lovelsu
I started out with a Brinkman electric smoker (looks similar to the Weber but it is electric) and I LOVED IT! Easy clean up and did the trick for all of my smoking needs. I called it my crockpot of smoking because I just stuck whatever I was smoking on and more or less left it alone. Granted there...

re: I want to buy a smoker. Suggestions? - lovelsu
I had a Brinkmans for over 7 years and loved it. Loved it so much my husband bought me a fancy Master Forge - don't like it at all. For some reason I cannot get the temp correct (takes awhile to get to temp) and then it seems to be getting hotter rather then leveling off (even though the temp read...

re: Darla's Kitchen Reno - lovelsu
Just finished my kitchen and living room. If you are going with recessed lighting in the kitchen I highly recommend LED lights. My neighbor warned me she used regular recessed lights and they add more heat to the kitchen. They are not cheap but are supposed to last a lot longer and are more effic...

We converted ours and love it. Don't have to worry about how much propane is in the tank, etc. We just bought the converter at Lowes and it took my husband about 30 minutes to connect. Would never go back to propane. ...

re: Mamma Della's is the location for Resturaunt Impossible - lovelsu
This is not the first show in Louisiana. He did one on a place in Mandeville or Covington which specialized in seafood. He gave him a new recipe to boil crawfish but the guy went back to the way he was boiling them once Robert left. Don't remember the name of the place but it was in LA....
