re: Anyone Have Experience with Ovarian Cancer - UPDATE pg 2 - 2/27 - lovelsu
No experience with ovarian but I am sitting in a chair right now getting chemo for pancreatic cancer. The best advice I can give you from my experience is the mantra my husband and I say in this battle - One step at a time, one day at a time, TOGETHER! It has helped us keep our sanity when waiting f...

re: Arrival time at MSY - lovelsu
Thanks for the offer Cuse but we are staying at Chena Hot Springs Resort and that where all of our time is going to be spent. My main goal is to see the Aurora and this is really good viewing spot. If I can keep the cancer at bay I want to go back next year in the Spring. Thanks for all the infor...

Arrival time at MSY - lovelsu
Next Monday we are flying out of MSY on United @8:12 AM. We will take a shuttle from the Hilton Garden Inn in Kenner to the airport. We have bags to check and are flying first (not a brag need to know if there is a separate security line for First/Priority Members). What time should we leave the ho...
My grandmother had the Whipple before I was born and I'm in my early forties. She passed away 5 years ago well up in years and it's wasn't due to cancer, just her time
That is very heartning to hear, JCrew. 40 years ago most Whipple surgeries were not successful and think how far b...
Would you elaborate on the differences in how hospitals view the treatment? I'm curious about what that means.
Some health groups are more into research and clinical trials which is great for some types of cancer. Those type groups never would talk about the Whipple surgery as a op...
ETA: also, the downvotes that you are seeing are people downvoting the fact that you have this condition...not that they are disapproving of you or the way that you have chosen treatment.
Thanks for filling me in on this Spankum.
What was the original prognosis and life expectancy given to you, if you don't mind me asking?
No treatment - 6 months, chemo - 2 years. Whipple surgery just becoming an option - 5+ years. Every doctor who has seen me cannot believe I am stage 3. Still have my hair and minimal w...
Eta: who's the coward that downvote the OP
In my original post (when first diagnosed) there were several posters who felt I should not have chemo because it is a terminal cancer and I am only delaying the inevitable and making doctors rich. They are more than likely the downvoters....

I spoke to several people who had radiation and they all said chemo was worse. For me I think it was the number and length of the treatments that scared me! Don't get me wrong,if my doctor said I had to have it - I would have done it....

Pancreatic Cancer - Update - lovelsu
Hi Everyone, A few months ago I started a thread when I was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. I received so many supportive responses that I wanted to give anyone who is interested an update. I began chemo back in November and had my 4th treatment last week. It is not to bad - you have goo...

re: Follow up question about washing machine - lovelsu
If I could go back in time I would definitely buy one with the agitator. Clothes don't seem clean and if I use powder detergent (load to small for a pod) it sometimes does not dissolve all the detergent and have to run the load on rinse again. Never again!...

re: Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - any good outcomes? - lovelsu
LC, I am so sorry about your dad. My oncologist does want me on a low carb diet. That is easy for me as I have done low carb from when it first came out and was known as the bourbon & beef diet ;) Right now my health is great except for trying to get the bile out of my body. I feel better then I ...
