I got em and every day I plan my attack on the ceilings and then realize how much needs to be done and I put it off.

Isn't it REALLY cheap to have someone remove them? Why wouldn't you just do that?

I got rid of mine last summer. I just used a spray bottle to wet the ceiling, waited a few minutes and it scraped right off. Just make sure you put visqueen down before you scrape.

Cash is king. The wallpaper deal is another issue. My sister is a high end ID and her clients want it now. From NYC, SF and even NOLA.

Crazy how trends change.

Do you need someone who is licensed and bonded to remove popcorn ceilings?

I believe you but in really nice houses, which are the ONLY places I see it, I only see it in bathrooms.

I've got books of samples in front of me now. Looking at some pattern mixes to transition from hallway into breakfast nook. The trick is to not buy cheap wallpaper, choose well and expect it to be out of style in 10 years. Prepare to do something different then. Not a big deal. It's the really cheap paper that's so difficult to get off the walls.

I could live with the ceiling but that wallpaper and curtains are some of the tackiest shite I ever seen.

popcorn ceilings

One time I was soaking in the tub in my undergrad apartment, and a big chunk of popcorn ceiling inexplicably broke off and landed on my chest.

Hope you enjoyed.

ETA: read it wrong about the wallpaper.. I don't have that.

Heh... I've had it quoted before and it was more than $500. To do it right it's gotta be refloated and that takes a few days.

Every room... remove everything, visqueen... maybe it's not as big a deal as I thought and I should look at it again.

I really hate the stuff.
