I love being with my parents. It's very enjoyable. They're both smart with good wit.

I love my mom to death. Wouldn't change a thing.

She goes out of her way to make sure I'm happy and that's all a son can ask for.

I wouldn't wish my mom on anyone. Not even my worst enemy.

Two days max. Moving out for college was the best thing that happened for our relationship.

Same here .... My mother is a compulsive liar and she lies about some of the dumbest shite that doesn't even matter or make sense ....

My parents, both deceased now, were really great people, parents & then grand parents for our children. And they were not SuperDad/Mom. They were human, certainly, with human warts, but they were just good folks all the way around. It really sucks if they were not the norm for most out there. Now, my in-laws? Their normal day to day life always encompassed a strong taste of the Twilight Zone & that is not much of a stretch.

Get over that shite. You'll wish you weren't so selfish when she's gone.

Love my mom, but she has the worst case of Catholic guilt I've ever encountered.

And she always wants to be the martyr/victim.

My mom as bad as it sounds, I love her to death but I just can't stand being with her for more than a day at a time. She's always so negative and takes everything to heart, plus if the women is breathing she's bitching.

Sounds like my mother. She's a miserable narcissist who has poisoned every relationship she ever had, and none of her kids, siblings or cousins can stand being around her for more than a half-hour. I love her, though, and I'll do all I can to help ensure she is sheltered, clothed, fed, and in receipt of medical care as she drifts into her twilight years.

Are we brothers? Actually it wasn't until my mom remarried when she started to become negative. Her husband is the type who will find something negative in every situation. I can't watch sports with him. For example, if he is watching a football game, it doesn't matter who is playing. If the offense puts together a dominate drive and finishes it off with a 17 yr TD pass, he will sit there and complain about how the defense should have did this or shouldn't have done that. If the defense causes the offense to go three and out and had a solid performance, he will talk about everything the offense should have done, etc.

It doesn't matter what type of situation it is, he will find the negative and harp on it and it seems to have worn off on my mom. Its not as bad as he is, but sometimes I can tell she repeats what he says.

Same for me. Within 5 minutes of sitting with her, she'll start bitching about something. What's worse is that she lives with my brother and nephew and they always argue over every stupid thing you can think of, but I'M the one that has to hear them bitch about it. Like I have to be the one that fixes everything. It's impossible to have a family cookout or get together.

I miss my dad. I'm just like him in several ways.

Man, there's a bunch of parent-hating folk up in here.

My mom and I had our differences when I was young, but I love being around her now. I don't get to see her but a few times a year, but when I do, she cooks whatever I want and treats me like a king.

my parents are both pretty bad. they busted up right after I was born 36 years ago. mom has been re married numerous times and my dad to this day will still not attend a function where my mother is such as grand kids birthday parties. So it is miserable to be around both of them even when they are separate. I realty do envy people with normal parents.
