Mine would be awesome if she would stop trying to move into my guest house.

I looked at and watched the M-I-L carefully before affiancing the daughter.

MIL was Miss Congeniality in a 1950s Miss Mississippi pageant.

She's been good to me & us, not perfect but good.

I prolly wasn't a perfect S-I-L in her eyes so we're about karmically even.

I'm usually not much sympathetic to folks with bad in-laws, normally there are signs before the engagement & marriage.

So you knew what you were getting into beforehand. Shut up then and deal with the bad medicine, it's your fault.

you married into this, not like you didn't know before saying 'I do'..... why should you now be absolved from the consequences of your decision?

I used to. Then I got divorced. Now I smile a little bit more each time I see her around because I know I will NEVER have to spend any extended amount of time with her again.

This. In regards to her mother. My father in law, nobody could have more contempt for him than my wife herself. He's not an issue. I've shaken his hand once. That's it.

My in-laws were divorced before I met my wife (no pics). My father-in-law is a good man; if I didn't have my dad, I would want my father-in-law to be my dad. My mother-in-law is certifiably crazy. Two out of three of her own kids don't even communicate with her anymore. She has never met three of her grandchildren. My wife is the only one who talks to her, and only does that out of charity, I believe. My mother-in-law hated my guts from day one, and really hated my guts when I kicked her out of our house once and told her to never come back.

The woman is bat shite insane. I don't know how my father-in-law stayed married to her for as long as he did.

Aside from the multiple kids part, I could have written this post. My wife is an only child. Love my father-in-law. My mother-in-law is bat shite crazy. And a hoarder. When she kicks off, I'm lighting a match.

My girlfriend is latina and her mom loves that I'm a white attorney. I literally can do no wrong.

Pro tip for the OT men: go find yourself a hot latina.

My mother in-law use to tell me "I am suppose to forgive 70 times 7 and you have reached your limit." I would reply with, so what is your point or I thought I hit that mark 4 years ago. It usually made her laugh. I use to pick on her all the time!

Same here with severe delusion. Her husband ( wife's step dad) is a raging alcoholic that drinks a 5th of Jim Beam almost daily. I often pray for forgiveness after wishing an untimely death on both of them

I actually like my MIL and step-MIL. They just aren't what I would consider reliable by any measure for a variety of reasons.

Not sure if you're serious or not but that's the point I'm at too.

She is always trying to tell us how to raise our kid, always trying to come over, never has one pleasant thing to say EVER, always trying to show she "told people how it was" in other words she thinks she's a dude bc her ex husband is a loser and wasn't a good dad, I could go on and on.

She bashes her daughter constantly behind her back then tells her to "get over it" when a fight ensues, waits a few weeks, gets back to being too involved, rinse repeat...
