My MIL as of current is great, she lives 160 miles away and I only see her on holidays. My previous MIL was a different story. She hated me before she even met me. I threatened to beat her arse like a man on Christmas morning 1996. It was justified, she told me she hoped I got a bullet between my eyes for Christmas

They're both Yankees from Massachusetts. Can be pretty cool at times, very well educated, make lots of money, but they're complete white apologists. FIL is a robotics engineer, went to an Ivy League school, and designs robots for a living. MIL is a psychologist for the state of Rhode Island. It must be the Jew in them, but they hate the fact that they're white and make every excuse in the book why culcha is such a problem in America. They teach their kids to be complete pussies and nerds. Their son was too afraid to try out for sports because he has "social issues" and "authority defiance disorder". Aside from that, we get along fine.
They hate the fact that I gave their daughter the BWC and now she has a baby and lives in dirty ol Louisiana with me.

I love my In Laws, I lost my dad in 2010 so my father in law is like my dad now. We eat dinner there just about every Sunday. They do a ton for me and the wife and are never intrusive on us.

My MIL is awesome. She still insists on paying for things for us even though I make good money and she knows it. She gifted us 100k as a down payment on our first house and bought both of our cars. She spoils our son like crazy. She talks too much but that's my only complaint about her.

hate is a pretty strong word. the first 5/6 of marriage my MIL tried to run my wife's life and it estranged all relationships.
soon, everyone was back to normal when my wife had a long sit down with them, told em how the cow was going to eat the cabbage, she loved me, and I wasn't going anywhere. when we had kids, she chilled the f out. I think she knew I would drop that hammer at anytime if I had to.
so basically they're good folk and have been good to us

Hate is a strong word, so I wouldn't say that.
My wife's family is extremely dysfunctional, so we have some boundaries regarding spending time with them. But my wife is probably harder on them than I am so it works.
