Considering a few lots out there but concerned about how far out the neighborhood is and proximity to grocery stores, etc. I haven't spent much time in Abita Springs, anything to do there? I have never played golf out there but would be a golf member. We work in Mandeville, Slidell and Picayune. Just looking for a little info. I would probably start drinking more Abita beers!

I did some work there. It's out in the middle of
Nowhere. Good 20 -30 minutes from Abita and not all that much to do there either.
Hope you like golf.

Money Hill. Such a pretentious name.

Surprised all the roads weren't named things like "frick You Peasants Blvd" and "Trophy Wife Rd."

i have relatives that live in money hill. Closest real grocery stores are probably in covington/mandeville. It's a pretty quiet area. lot's of space.

Money Hill is way out there and there's isn't shite to do in Abita. Whenever you want to do anything, you'll have to drive 30 minutes or so just to do anything shopping or entertainment wise.

my butler lives in Money Hill. Seems to really enjoy it for his summer home.

it's an an awesome neighborhood that's probably worth being 15-20 minutes out from "town". The new entrance on hwy 21 is a game changer. you're probably 20-25 minutes from driveway to rouses grocery store going that way. I love the neighborhood, live fairly close to it.

That's good info. Thank you. 20-25 minutes in a bigger town isn't shite really. It just seems like it when you live on the Northshore. The land is significantly cheaper out there than other neighborhoods like it closer to town.

That's the hangup I am having. Although I'm a golfer(sort of), there is a club, tennis, and gym out there. It is still a little ways out.

there is a store in Abita. have not been inside to comment. but, it looks like your typical small town store. Thre is also a little hole in the wall place not far from money hill but, it's more like a run in and grab some busch and a can of dip and run out kind of place.

And covington is only a few minutes further.

grocery store in abita ain't worth much of a frick besides needing to make a 2 item run here and there. The extra drive doesn't bother me too much. Commuting to town isn't much of a problem, the problem would be how far extra family may have to commute to work. my wife crosses causeway every day, that little bit extra makes it that much more running even though money hill may really only add about 13 more minutes of commuting for me. my buddy had a house in there on bald eagle and sold it recently. i love driving around in there, really enjoy the atmosphere there.

Not a clue. Don't really care honestly. It was a nice enough place if golf and overbearing HOAs are your thing.

My dad bought a lot out there in the early 2000s. It was his dream to build his house and retire there. Unfortunately cancer got him in 06 and he never got to build.

There are plenty of neighborhoods in Covington and Mandeville that are closer to civilization that are just as nice. Money Hill is just too far for my liking to have to drive 30 minutes every single time I want to go to a store or grab something to eat.

getting to abita circle is hardly getting you anywhere to do anything. not even a red box there.
