And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"

Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground

And you may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"
And you may ask yourself, "Where is that large automobile?"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful house"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful wife"

Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground

If some artsy guy wrote some far out song lyrics from the OT consensus thinking, they would probably be quite similar.

Yes! He had some great solo works as well. I also liked his book about music.

Talking Heads - Life during wartime LIVE

The movie of those 3 performances is awesome. Cad has it on his plex server.

It sounds like he's getting the "I'm running out of money" blues, so it's time to dust off the relationship with the old Heads.

Wasn't his recent Broadway show pretty successful?

They had a few good songs. Sounds like Byrne deserved one of those wall to wall counseling sessions from his band mates.

I’ve seen a lot of bands, but Talking Heads is the one I really regret not seeing back in the day…

ETA- I read somewhere that Trent Reznor made more money off the Lil Nas X Old Town Road loop than he made on Pretty Hate Machine.

I know nothing about music recording and royalties but how in the hell can this be true?

Pretty Hate Machine is such a bad arse album.

I remember listening to Tina and Chris talk about how vicious Byrne got at the end. They reunited and played the rock and roll hall of fame and he allegedly would barely talk to them. It reminds me of when the Pixies broke up and Frank Black just sent a fax to everyone.

But eventually Frank ran out of money and now the Pixies tour damn near year round.

Talking Heads were so damn amazing. I think if they could bury the hatchet a little bit, we could finally get back to some magic with those guys.

First class jerk whose "art" justified to him being a prick.

Smartest person in the room, don't believe it just ask him he'll confirm.
