Covington is nice, but like up-town it is not. Unless you mean similar to up-town because they are both in Louisiana, then yes you could hardly tell the difference.

I don't understand why everything in this state needs to be compared to New Orleans.

New bar or reasturaunt opens up in BR and the first thing people do is compare it to a place in New Orleans. Sorry but there is nothing wrong with downtown Covington being its own place. And that place is more like downtown Hammond than Uptown New Orleans lady.

Maybe they just mad they got a Bears uptown now.

The only thing this thread needs is someone jumping in and telling us how BR is better than both places

I live near Covington and a shooting range. When I hear gunfire now, I'm hearing freedom. When I lived in uptown nola and heard gunfire. I was hearing death.

The lady is from nola I believe.

Would we like to compare the number of incidents I'm uptown vs downtown Covington now?

And, y'all are forgetting its a quote from a customer passing through. It's not a big deal. I was born, raised and lived in nola for 30 years, I love it, but it does have warts. I had my fair share of run ins with criminals and decided more than a decade ago to GTFO. Too many close calls. And no, I never lived in a trashy neighborhood but iin nola that doesn't matter. I still love it but at a safe distance.

Residential architecture is very similar actually. Also, some streets have bars, restaurants, art galleries etc kind of have a Magazine St feel. Other than that, I don't see the need for a dick measuring contest (the article, not your post).

It's nice, but it's not like uptown at all. But, Jesus, I'm so sick of people being offended every 5 seconds. It was tongue in cheek and meant as a shout out to what a nice area it is. I don't know how people like Mary Jacobs function. It must suck to be pissed off all the time.

$10 says she hasn't lived in uptown much either. Just a faker all around.
