On the corner of North New Hampshire and East Rutland streets in downtown Covington, something other than a stop sign is giving people pause.

The sign reads: "Covington like up-town New Orleans without the gun-fire"

quote:

But Mary Jacobs, from New Orleans, was offended and made her own post about the sign on social media, which sparked a dual-shore debate.

Like uptown New Orleans without the gunfire...bars, restaurants, architecture, Audubon park, whole foods, the fly, streetcars, sidewalks, and people who don't write stupid shite on signs.

Wow, downtown Covington doesn't even have sidewalks?

I hang out at that cigar shop a few times a month. Pat has been making those signs weekly for years. He is a staunch conservative and civil war buff--even does the annual reenactment deal in full uniform.

He does the signs intentionally to pull the libs chains--and usually a couple times a year, they bite the the bait!

The sign's a bit goofy but Pat's good people for sure. I spend a lot of time there when I can.

And it's off the beaten path, not like it's on the main street.

That filthy dyke count Mary Jacobs can carry her fat arse due south.

Jewel's, yeah. Close by Bogue Falaya park. Great selection and good hang out when you can.

Nola will never have the class of Covington. To even compare is an insult to that outstanding city.

What made you decide to put these two things together? I'm assuming you don't self-identify as a liberal and that you know the liberal playbook is to equate conservatives with racists living with a Civil War era mentality towards minorities. So what made you think it was a good idea to couple the two when describing the guy?
