Too many alligators.

Can we start with a TopGolf?

Would it make Brad Pitt and Justin Timberlake finally buy houses here?

Sure! Put it in Livingston Parish, with a NASCAR track and a world class horse racing track next door. We've gone thru this many times!

Eh. I threw him a bone. Covington and Livingston are close. And it's possible the park could have gone across parish lines.

He bought up 50 square miles of land. Over 30,000 acres.

They've sold off a bunch and only about 1/5 of that original purchase has ever been developed.

It's crazy and I'm kind of surprised the local paper hasn't run an updated story on it. He's been collecting money since 2011 and has produced absolutely nothing except for a crappy website and some FB updates with "news" of the park. He claims it'll be a $400 million+ resort somewhere off of Hwy 90 near Houma on 4000+ acres of land

Disney came to build in Louisiana, the politicians wanted too much money under the table so he went to Orlando instead.

Louisiana will NEVER succeed with the corrupt nature of our government and while litigation is considered "big business".

I know the politics of the state, but you would think that over time these politicians would see how they are doing more damage to the state (I know they only care about themselves, but) by losing business because of the way things or ran.

Think Worlds Fair in NOLA. $Millions over budget due to typical La corruption.

You're assuming they're smart, imaginative people.

I guess we have no one to blame but the people of the state who keep elected them back in office.

Nope..

f a group of investors get together and decide to build an amusement park that isn't related to any type of brand (like Disney world was/is), but has the "wow" factor, do you think it would do well?

There will never be anyone person or group that could come close to duplicating what Disney has become.

We couldn't maintain JazzLand, but somehow we manage to run a Disney World?
