Piggy should have brought him to jail or at least given him a nice ticket.

There are cops like that who will give you a warning then there are cops like the one who posts up at the Seigen off ramp onto the service road. He's more like a glorified tattle tale.

Yes, I'm mad.

While generally a good practice, its far from a guarantee. I was sure that this approach would get me a warning a month back.

Instead I got a failure to signal ticket for merging into a turning lane at an intersection.

Get this: I ran a red light; I was going 43 in a 25; didn't have my proof of insurance or registration; and got off with a warning

I feel like a situation like that would fall into the most of the time category since its not in the upper percentile in terms of bad traffic violations so I wanted to gauge your response in an attempt to see if you were surprised or not.

Years ago I got pulled over by a Kenner officer for an expired brake tag. I had an awful day up to that point. Wife and I were going through a divorce and I was flat broke.

I gave him my license and registration, and then I politely asked him If he could let me off on this. He asked "Why should I?" and I responded "because I'm asking".

I guess he tell by my face that I was in a rough state, so he said "ok, take care man"

Most are good guys and have probably been through some shite themselves. 90% of the cops I know are cool. If you're not doing some really dumb shite, just being polite can go a long way. There are exceptions of course, just like in any other field.

Louisiana does seem to have it's share of a-hole cops. Especially around Homer for out of staters. frick those guys.
