Some jurisdictions/agencies allow arrest if you refuse to sign ticket.

The ticket is your summons to court and your signature is your promise/guarantee that you will show up.

Some agencies require the violator to be arrested if they refuse to sign.

I understand it can be taken to a second level but it's not unlawful to refuse to sign. The a-hole cop can take it to another level. Nothing about this video should have prompted this cop to act on not signing a freaking ticket. He's slopped his micro-peen out for the subjective music level. From 50', you could hear a almost any "noise". Both of these pricks are being pricks. Both should have ended it there and both driven away.

Some agencies require arrest if you refuse to sign.

As their policy and procedure dictates it.

100%, it is not illegal to refuse to sign.

However...

Your signature is, in effect, bail on the offense cited. That bail means that you will appear in court at a specified time and date.

Refusal to sign is not a crime, but it is the offender essentially forfeiting his or her bail for the offense.

The mandatory court date the officer was speaking about was an arraignment, where Tyrone McShitbone will be brought to jail and his appearance will ensured (as opposed to his willful and open refusal to appear before a judge).

Me and mine take the stance no one should be subjected to incarceration based upon a subjective citation of music level in public (with no obvious complainant) or for signing a ticket. No matter the verbal judo this black dude laid down after the fact, the incident started with the cop approaching it re: 50' music ordinance. That's what the video proves as well. To that I say leave ALL people alone and go protect and serve. frick not allowing society to just simply be society. You Libtards who hate freedom and the right to be free kill me.

According to him, the cop was there because he was black. Not because of his loud music. I wonder...
"Stop robbing this bank!" "It's 'cuz I'm black, right?"

Newsflash: Your opinion doesn't mean shite.

The officer has to follow his agency's SOP.

I'm with you.

But this is probably what happened.

Someone calls the cops about loud music.

Cops are like, this is bs why cant people just act like adults.

Cops go out and ask dude to turn it down.

Dude gets all black righteous warrior and then talks himself into a ticket when all he had to do was turn the music down.

Cops will be in court that day just so the dumbass has to pay his $135. Id be willing to bet he talks himself into so more trouble when he brings his attitude to the judge.
