I have a crazy theory that blacks generally have better bodies than white people, so this allows them to take a few dietary liberties, causing a higher heart attack and death rate.

How fricked in the head do you have to be to be offended by that? What kind of pussy do you have to be to be so craven that you would anticipate somebody being offended by that?

I saw a black woman order a salad at the chimes once. She told the waiter she needed more ranch because it was 'making her mouf dry.'

Depending on when the episode was written I can see why it would be controversial. The show took some heat in the first few seasons for creating a NYC backdrop where black people were practically nonexistent. If you've ever been to NYC you understand how ridiculous that is. Especially so in the 90's.

So I understand that having a whitewashed show made primarily for white people that poked fun at black people - using a completely stupid premise - could be seen as maybe not a good idea.

But they did do a few racial shows later. The one where Elaine thought her bf was black or mixed and the one where George told his boss that he looked like sugar Ray Leonard and spent the rest of the show trying to convince him that he wasn't racist and had black friends. Maybe those just made a little more sense than racist preconceptions about our dietary habits.
