Controversial Seinfeld episode that never made it to the air.

"NBC censors pretty much let Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David get away with whatever they wanted on Seinfeld. One of the few exceptions was a proposed episode in which George got in trouble for observing, “You know, I have never seen a black person order a salad.”
Uh-uh, said NBC. An entire episode on masturbation? Fine by us. But there will no joking about the dietary habits of African-Americans on this show. The script was nixed."

Now that I think about it, I don't think I have seen this happen either.

Because, God forbid, let's laugh at something that affects us all.

It's ironic that the Seinfeld episode was banned but Chappelle's Clayton Bigsby episode made the cut, which was hilarious, in my opinion.

Well...one was NBC and the other was Comedy Central, which is pay cable.

Ok,
That was all conjecture.
I mean, they can't even prove it existed.
Why not ask Larry David or Seinfeld about it?
Why some no-name?

Seinfeld aired a whole episode about masturbation, so your point is invalid.

Some no name?
Seinfeld writer Larry Charles, who wrote both the gun and the salad episode...

The Contest episode was pushing the limits, but it was artfully done. They never said masturbation once.
We need more details about the rest of this script that included the salad line. If it was one of George's unrelated musings in Monk's, they'd just take it out and keep the rest of the story. NBC later had to apologize for the Puerto Rican parade episode, so maybe it was a smart business move to shy away from doing a controversial episode about race.

I think Larry Charles just directed not wrote

Pretty sure they also rejected an episode where Elaine buys a gun.

Not really. Black people are given more leeway to openly discuss race.

PR Day was either the 2nd or 3rd to last (can't remember which, I wanna say 3rd?) episode of the whole series, so that wouldn't have had any affect on this unaired salad ep.

It happened with the Puerto Rican day episode.
If you'd pay attention instead of being a total dick, you'd realize that.

Puerto Rican day, Cosmo stomps out the flag. That bad boy was pulled from the air pretty fast. God I love that show.

I never really watched Seinfeld. I don't see what's the big deal of black people not ordering salads anyways.

Yeah it was the one before the finale. That's an example that it wasn't absurd for NBC to be wary of some of the scripts, even though PR Day made it through.

I didn't know it was a thing that they did or didn't.
There are many advantages to being self-absorbed.
Mainly, you don't care what other people do.
