The huskies I've known have all been very friendly.

We have a Lhasa Apso. He looks cute and fluffy, but he's an a-hole.

I have a basset who will be lazy if nothing is going on but who is quite active when outdoors. He can also ornery around strangers and has a hatred for moving cars.

I have a cocker spaniel and people always say how mean they normally are...couldn't be further from the truth. At least not for my boy.

I just looked it up and you are correct
I think it's largely because they are a working breed, and can get out of hand if their owner is a lazy dumbass. Definitely a lot of work to train, I guess the people I have encountered were all pretty good owners

Had a cocker spaniel for 14 years. Smartest dog we ever owned. A wonderful family pet, loved our kids and grandparents. However, had to make him an inside dog because he hated strangers and would bite. The vet once told us he had to muzzle more cockers in order to treat than any other breed.

People often mistake my bulldog for a pitbull. The little fat arse is scared of his own shadow and wont pee alone after dark. Someone has to walk out with him.

That you should not have a husky in the south. I hear this on this board all the time.

I've had two dachshunds, so people think I have a small penis.

Truth be told, my dogs aren't the only long weiners in the family.

Large, dominant dogs need the right kind of owner. People buy a dog because they look cool, and that's the wrong way to look at it.

I agree. I was fortunate to get him while my only responsibility was an internship 6 hours a day, and while I was gone my girlfriend took care of him, so he always had a lot of structure. He's been going to dog parks regularly since he was 10 weeks so that helps too

Maybe they think you're an idiot for walking a husky in the Louisiana heat?

Good job of providing the perfect example of the topic of this thread.

I've got a pretty good one for you. I have an 80lbs Standard Poodle. Most people think they are a French breed that was developed just to show off. Actually, they are a German breed and were one of the first water dog breeds developed. "Poodle" is a derivative of "splash" in German. Their ugly “show dog” haircut was actually developed due to their use as water dogs. Because their coats do not shed water like a lab or other water dog breed, all fur that was not needed to keep their core and joints warm was shaved off. That’s where the cut came from. I do not shave mine like a show dog. Instead, his coat is all one length and he looks a lot like a curly-coated retriever. My previous Standard was a hell of a duck dog. I’m sure you can imagine how many strange looks we got heading out into the marsh. My present Standard, while one of the best retrievers I ever worked with, is afraid of deep water. He refuses to get in water over his shoulders and he literally cannot swim.

I got a catahoula that has a docked tail and is stocky. Lots of people back off when they see her and then ask if she's a pit bull. Nope...she's mostly chicken.
