USS Shamal?

Don't think this would be considered a sailing vessel though

frick. That is from a producer of a Fort Myers, FL news channel.

Damn. Not the news we all want to hear. If they are out there still, they've got to be dehydrated as hell, burned to a crisp and terrified something fierce. I feel for their family and friends. If it's affecting us this much, can you imagine what it's doing to them?

Yeah, don't think that's the one the CG was calling.

You should change the subject line, not that I'm offended. But someone seeing this anew will be sorely disappointed.

Think about how terrifying it would be to be adrift in open water with no boat in the dark. Chilling.

If a helo found a heat signature why wouldn't it go to that area and relay coordinates? Or make a visual?

Had a SAR bird actually picked up two heat signatures they absolutely 100% would have verified contact visually and attemted rescue/retrieval in anything less than a major hurricane.

They would have not only radiod lat and long, they would have dropped a marker bouy and remained on station until relieved by fixed wing or out of fuel.

This is a very sad individual perpetrating a hoax most likely.

Yeah this situation is terrible I just think the odds of finding these boys at all is getting very slim. Worst case I hope they find their bodies. These poor families are gonna need closage. I bet this hope like we had tonight is gut wrenching for the families when nothing is found.

Is there any chance they may have washed up on an island?

If there are half as many sharks up by J-ville as there are off the coast of Jupiter, I'm not confident they will find anything. Just terrible.

I think that if they would have washed up anywhere on land dead or alive they would have been found by now. There are some remote locations but with helicopters and everyone looking seems like they would be found. Now you drift out into the ocean you may never be found.

I surf along the coast I do see plenty of shark fins but try not to think about them. I read an article recently about a dad that lost his son to a rip current but was so thankful they found his son's body. Article brought me to tears just knowing that the dad was just thankful he had something to bury. Hopefully these boys are found.
