I've overheard her complaining how the breakroom fridge smells and then minutes later I'll get a group email marked "high importance" saying she's cleaning out the fridge by so and so time so get everything you want out

I'm guessing this person is either a glorified secretary that also sends you urgent updates to the office birthday list or they are a busy body that gains satisfaction from making signs about cleaning the kitchen or correcting strangers on minutia.

How many people replied all to that urgent message to tell them they had some yogurt they wanted to keep?

We have the ones that are dialing your number as they hit send asking if you got the email. Inbox checks every minute and they can't even wait 60 seconds for it to come over.

What kind of company doesn't require salesman to have email on their phones?

If the emails are that important, just start CC'ing your boss. If the co-worker isn't responding to time-sensitive emails consistently, make sure your boss knows any delay in getting shite done is their fault and not yours.

90% of my emails come from my clients. It's usually a problem that they want fixed immediately. I keep records of all emails and even if I do have a phone conversation, I will follow it up with an email to recap what was just said on the phone. Relying on phone conversations would be very dangerous bc it's much easier to produce email exchanges of what happened that to relay a verbal phone convo should the issue escalate into a he said/ she said situation. Not responding to emails would cost me my job bc it would mean I wasn't doing my job.

If you're working with legitimate professionals, their email should be pushed to their phones.

When I am out of the office, I push an OOO note to contact my cell.
