Co-Workers Who Never Check Their Emails

My god, I have a few people in my office that never check their emails. It is so bush league.
I cannot stand when I send out a time sensitive issue about a subject and a few hours later I see them and ask "Did you get my email?" They reply "No, I haven't checked my email yet today" -
It's fricking 10:30 in the morning and you have been at work for 2-1/2 hours and you have not checked you fricking email yet?
This happens several times/week. I have complained to them about it but they just don't listen.
I receive complaints from clients that so and so never emails or calls them back. It is just absurd.
I have talked to my manager about it and they just brush it off like it's no big deal.
Is this normal where you work?

Maybe they are just focused on their work
Reading emails can ruin your day

Guilty.
I read them then ignore them

Maybe you should try taking to them in person.

Who wants to read?? Just tell them what you want.

They read them. They just don't like you or have any respect for you and neither do your supervisors.

Just make it mandatory that they must check their email every hour.
Granted, they won't check their email every hour, but if you can get them to check it every hour and a half or so, then you are winning.

I love forwarding the read receipt showing that they saw it the next day after no response.

I've found doing everything myself to be the most effective. I don't have the patience to wait on coworkers.

No. But we don't send around useless emails unless we know someone is presenting and they have their Outlook preview on...

You must suck at your job if this is a serious problem. Seriously, pick up a telephone if it's time sensitive. Or fix the problem yourself.

I would lose my shite if I worked in an office.
ETA to fix my spazziness. Damn.

I think most time management courses teach people to only check emails at certain times. Email is a big distraction. Email is not instant messaging.

In my experience, the same people who aren't checking their emails probably aren't going to answer my calls either.
If its a time sensitive issue that doesn't require an immediate response, I think email is fine.
What I hate is sending an email to someone and flat out never receive a response or not receiving a response until days or weeks later. It's as if clients will go awol which leads to delays and projects and often times irate clients contacting you at the 11th hour demanding to know why what you have been trying to schedule with them all this time hasn't already been done.

Yea, what about the people that will only email and will send them like it's a text message convo

Had one a-hole where I used to work who would send an email instead of walking 30 feet or so. Or calling me on my radio.
