So at work I an in a climate change argument. A medical society I am a member of has decided to take on the challenge and get physicians to help control climate change.

What do you think is the least biased data that I can review to either change my mind or use to change the opposing side?

Climate change is a myth perpetrated by the white majority to oppress the disenfranchised.

An informal, in-depth poll of OTLers on the issue, clearly.

I've heard of physicians having God complexes but this might take the cake

Common sense...

The far end estimates have the Earth warming by 2C degrees in 100 years

The far end estimates have man's activities accounting for no more than 25% of that.

So, even if every human disappeared overnight (and every plant, car, etc. stopped running), the Earth would still be 1.5C degrees warmer in 100 years.

Is .5C degrees worth complete disruption of the Western economies? Does getting hit by a truck at 75 miles an hour really differ that much from a truck going 100 miles per hour?

And this does not even take into consideration the expansion of arable (i.e., farmable) land that would result.

Start by figuring out what the Earth's thermostat is supposed to be set at.

Then you can start solving the "problem"

So they don't want to fix it or stop it. They just want to be in control of it. What kind of super villain organization are you a part of?

Ask them how it happened that the earth has phased in and out of both ice ages and tropics covering much of the earth before the dawn of mankind.

Get these three questions answered and you'll be able to form an answer:

1. What is the average global temperature supposed to be?
2. What will it take to get us to or back to that level?
3. What will that cost?

Want to end it fast?

Call him out as a racist.

An entitled white doctor wants to limit the access of poor people in the 3rd world to plentiful, cheap energy.

Its just fine he has benefited from fossil fuels, but for the person in the developing world, they better embrace alternate energy and accept a world where they have to live with the impairment of clean energy sources?

Fight dipshit fire, with dipshit fire.

I'm curious as to how they propose they do this.

Trump said it was a myth propagated by the Chinese.

Which is it?
