It's not about acceptance. It is unusual by definition. If you were okay with it, everything would be fine.

You've certainly been the least insecure person in this thread. Must be the anteater dick you're packing.

jumping off point. On mobile, but this is an overview of the CDC's opinion on circumcision and links to the studies from which the opinion is formed. I'm currently on mobile, the best I can find for penile cancer risk reduction is that 98% of penile cancer occurs in uncircumcised males as opposed to those who were circumcised, but that's all systematic reviews and retrospective cohorts, not a randomized, controlled trial.

As far as HIV and std prevention, there were three trials held. All three were stopped early and the control group was offered circumcision because of the overwhelming effectiveness at the prevention of HIV transmission. The subjects were from Sub-Saharan Africa. They were designed as international studies and did include observers/designers from the U.S.

When it comes to promiscuous adolescent teens and inconsistent condom usage ok the U.S., you can't forget to take your foreskin off. So, much like driving, it's pretty convenient to irreversibly reduce your chance at contracting lifelong, terrible viruses with terrible consequences.

I didn't even realize I was circumcised until my mid teens.

He brought up the same points.

that cdc article has a much higher percentage rate for penile cancer than any other articles I've come across. This metaanalysis includes many of those studies cited by the cdc and several others hat were not included - most of which have increased rates of 30-60%......most lower than the 50% of the study about autism.

Have you considered that the rate of children being diagnosed with autism is growing rapidly across the board?

Speaking anecdotally, I have met many people with Autism and I have found that a great many of those I've met with the disorder have a gluten allergy and/or have gastro-intestinal distress on a regular basis. My money is on GMO's or the abundance of wheat/grains being in some way responsible for this boom in Autism as well as other mental disorders.

Disclaimer: I love bread and eat it on a daily basis and often as I can, so I'm certainly not campaigning for gluten-free products/lifestyles.

I do believe something is causing the huge increase in cases of Autism, but I think it is in poor taste and short-sighted to try and link it to circumcision.

Penile cancer is also a very nasty way to die. It erodes into your femoral vessels and you bleed to death

Amazong how few "scientists" actually get this. But headlines aren't made by facts or good science all the time.

If you actually read the article, there's apparently some doubt about the premise of the study.
