Just out of curiosity, how does Andreas compare to Vincent's? We used to go to Vincent's all the time, but to this day I've never eaten at Andrea's but have heard good things...

I like Andrea's more. Food is heavier though, so you'll definitely get more full. The Vincent's uptown is better than the one off transcontinental though.

Plus, the bartender tips herself 15% on pick-up orders, so I haven't gone back to that one.

I used to prefer Fausto's on Vets down by Dorignac's over both Andrea's and Vincent's, but it's been a while.

Sal and Sam's used to do a lot of table side stuff.

Another Girard Viking here. Playing 105's for Lawson Gagnet was awesome! I'm sure I can dig up my east bank champion jacket from my parent's house.

I used to LOVE bringing stuff to the dump.

I mentioned Meydrich's grocery earlier. I remember they had an incinerator right on side the building by Homestead where they used to burn all the cardboard boxes - precursor to recycling.

I also remember Villere's Florist on Homestead. A few times Mr Roger brought in trucks of shaved ice and dumped them out front around Christmas so all the little Metry rats could build snowmen.

They charge for to-go boxes. I got in am argument with the manager about it and asked to leave because I was too loud. Spent $70 on dinner, and they're trying to charge me fricking $0.73 for a small box and $1.25 for a big one.

I am on a boycott

3. Barker's Discount Dept. Store (where Rouse's and KMart are)

Rememebr you used to be able to park on the roof?
Later Interstate Ford(now veterans)used to park their over stock cars up there.

there was a Gaylords(later on it was Zayre)on Labarre Rd. at Airline across from Schwegmanns.

btw: Elsie was the Borden's Mascot...I don't believe Walker Roemer Dairy ever had a name for their cow.

Played for him. And then coach Malcom. Bryan was the playground supervisor. I went to JPRD Allstars after that... Man I wish my future kids could experience that world. Great memories

Use to sell drink bottles from job sites at Clearview Supermarket/Phil's Meat Market. Oddly the front of the store faced West Metairie. Also the trampoline place had a live skunk in a cage for awhile. Walters Park on the lake bike trail.
