With that amount of money, why didn't he put the employees to work someplace else instead of giving a hand out?
Where? In another Chick-fil-A store? What about the employees already in that store?

Well Paul only said it cause Jesus told him to. Either way the message was clear, don't give people stuff for free, everyone has to work.

Chick-fil-a is the business to be in, but it is so damn hard to become an operator. You only need 5K, but Chick-fil-a's don't fail. They only give them to the very best. You can easily bring in 100K a year owning a store. And if you're good, you can own two. Two stores can bring in 200K conservatively. The first few years of opening a store sucks, but after that, you can hire people to do just about all of the day to day work. I've seen guys who were mid 30s and working a day a week, bringing in 200K.

5 months seems like a really long time for a renovation.

And there is not indication that they are supposed to. So?

Numbers don't add up, but Chick-fil-a is a super profitable company that will support their operators a ton through renovations. He is probably losing some money, but not as much as you'd think. Chick-fil-a is such a badass company. Every property and building they own is bought with cash. They don't deal with loans or mortgages.

They essentially built a new restaurant. It is in a pretty landlocked spot, and managed to grow their drive through lines from 2 to 3, and still maintin excellent customer service and quick turn times on orders.

Starting pay probably part timers is $11. Full timers get $3600

This proves the point I make on the political board - you can be progressive and run a business - you don't have to be a greedy slimeball and exploit your employees.
I've never eaten at a Chick-Fil-A, but next time I go to Austin I surely will.

They really do run a good place. I'd love to see their numbers and how it all plays out. No way I could start everyone at $11.

i'm on the deacon board with a guy that owns/operates 2. he seems to do pretty well and is a standup guy. people I know that work for him have nothing but good things to say.
dude gives away crap like it's going out of style too. we can approach him for anything and he'll donate 200+ sandwiches without batting an eye.

The one in South Austin has three drive through lines parallel to each other. The demand is so high they are giving up parking spaces to convert to a drive through during lunch. I cannot imagine how much this place makes. They have employees in the parking lot taking orders.

but but they don't agree with putting it in his butt. They are evil and should be forced to close down. We can't have that in Obama's American and we can't have employers treating their employees well either. It destroys our fake talking points.
Signed:

ETA: my bad I though I was on the PT board. That was a great thing for the Chick-Fil-A owner to do.

Yep...The one that recently opened in south B.R. at Highland and Airline does an unbelievable business. At lunch there are two lines at the drive thru backed up to the entrance and it's impossible to find a parking place. Even with this, they still serve you faster than Canes and they have such a larger menu.

Wrong. Your suggestion is just as bad as the original post that you're lambasting.
Your sentence should read as follows:
You should have written that his post was poorly written (not written poorly).
Ugh. Smh.
