Did he remove his hands quickly from his pocket with a knife that could be mistaken as a pistol?
That might have been the case and its terrible for both parties then. Only if he could have just listened to them and stopped he would still be alive today.

Yep. Because he wasn't

As a Police officer he should show more discipline with his weapon. Being an officer of the law does not give you the right to decide who lives and who dies. I am not a fan of the BLM movement but this should make all people angry regardless of race. The guy was going to be arrested for a crime but until he left them no other option shots should not have been fired. Even then he could have went for a wounding shot instead of straight to the kill shot.

Was it a throwing knife? Because it didn't look like he was in striking distance to me.
21 feet for a knife is what's taught in the Academy.

You can attest that there are some guys within the force looking to shoot.

frick you pussy. I'm all for charging this guy, but what you just said is a completely broad generalizing statement that is completely false. Go frick yourself bitch.

No he was just running around high on pcp in a major street. Who appeared to show some kind of sliver weapon in his left pocket. Shame on the officers for confusing it for a gun.
For all they know it was a gun and they are clearly in shooting distance whether or not he was running at them.

Watch to many movies. You cannot shoot someone because they won't stop
He was not an immediate threat to the officer. Plain and simple, it was murder.

Slow motion shows hand in pocket with first shot. So no, he did not remove it until after he was shot first. Also, please notice the smoke coming from his body from the rest of the shots as he lay motionless.
While I agree had he complied he'd be alive. However, it was the bullets that killed him. Had the officer not used a shoot first and continue to shoot as he lay motionless mentality, he'd also still be alive today.

If that was a gun instead of a knife would he be an immediate danger then?

Nope. The officers were already told he had a knife

That is an issue that should be addressed . I have witnessed more restraint from young privates in the Army while deployed. I usually side with law enforcement but I cannot side with this officer. I believe most officers are doing things properly but this is extreme and should be dealt with.

That doesn't make sense. You shoot to kill the threat or you don't shoot at all. Problem here is Mr. Cop acted rashly to say the least. But shooting to wing him or wound him seems like some Hollywood shite to me.

You are correct.
I'm not an attorney or involved in law enforcement to know the correct language. Nor do I put myself in situations where I would actually hear these terms.
Sad situation.

16 shots. about 14 while he lay on the ground motionless

While what he did was wrong you have no F'n idea what you're talking about. You only shoot to stop the threat, i.e. shoot to kill. We do not shoot to "wound" or give "warning shots".

I thought the black guy was a cop at first ,with the way he was holding his hands. Looks like he was holding something that looked like a gun to me ,or something similar. Why couldnt he just stop and listen ? Its ridiculous that anyone would expect a good outcome , when you don't follow orders from police .
