Haven't seen too many great deals in the past few weeks, but just noticed this. From now until the first week of June, New Orleans - Los Angeles is $166. Fares can be found on United and Southwest for nonstop flights. Looks like mostly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, some Fridays and Saturdays.

Sample dates: April 7-9, 15-18, May 6-8 and many more.

Happy travels

How do you find these?

I don't live in LA.

Fares are going to continue to go down as oil continues to flounder. Should be a good summer to book a trip. $166 for roundtrip halfway across the country into a major hub is insane though.

I wouldn't bet on it. Seat price is ultimately determined by demand, and ever since the recession airlines have gotten their passengers loads per flight a lot higher than before.

That's a good point, but lower fuel costs are still going to push prices down as airlines compete on costs. It's already happened to some extent.

Ya I suppose. A couple airlines really fricked up on their fuel hedges though

I'm thinking next week there actually may be some ATL deals because frontier just announced they're adding 10 new routes from there. My guess is delta will price match on the routes they want to protect, ill keep an eye out.

Do you go to each carrier's website and just play with the dates to see if this rate applies to our desired dates?
