Video of shooting

A video surfaced today on Facebook showing Canadian police dragging a man out of a home when one of the officers walks up to a black dog wagging its tail in the grass and shoots it dead.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police claimed the dog, Duke, had attacked one of their dogs.
But the video, recorded by a screaming, distraught woman, shows that did not happen in the moments before it was shot.
The video is recorded in the vertical mode and she is swinging the phone all over the place, so it does not capture the scene in its entirety.
However, it shows that Duke was nowhere close to the group of cops dragging Adam Cote out of the house.

Video evidence should be thrown out, imo.

This webpage is blocked for me. Did the cop get charged or was any aftermath elaborated on.

So did someone shoot the dog before the guy finished it off with the scatter gun?

I get that shooting a non-threatening dog is bad and should be punishable, but crying hysterically over it is pretty pathetic. What a loser.

it appears that the dog attacked the service dog..then they shot and wounded the dog....you can hear the cop telling someone to get the shotgun out of the car and finish the dog off

trolling or you don't own a dog.
If that was my dog I would have been more proactive.

Not what I got at all out of the video. When the video started it appeared the dog had already been shot so we have no idea from this video what happened before the dog was shot (i.e., whether it had attacked or not).

Again, it wasn't close to them after they shot it. We don't know if it was close before they shot it.

The video does not capture the scene in its entirety, however, in the beginning, you can hear the RCMP dog handler instructing another officer to “get a shotgun and take this dog down.”
Duke was nowhere close to the group of officers dragging the almost naked man ?named Adam Cote? out of the house and the dog may have already been injured.
Nevertheless, a RCMP officer walks over with a shotgun and shoots Duke dead.
quote:
Apparently, Duke had attacked the police dog, when Kamsack RCMP and the Prince Albert RCMP Service Dog Unit went into a residence on the Key First Nation, after receiving information that Cote was hiding in one of the homes.
Cote was taken into custody. He suffered injuries during the arrest and received treatment in hospital.

So why does your OP say the dog was clearly not a threat?
