Actually, it did last night. Hit a low of around $420 for like a minute in the middle of the night. When I woke up, it was over $500 again. People are just very reactionary to any amount of news. A lot of it is from miner greed. They mine altcoins, trade to BTC, and either immediately cash out, or hold it until there is bad news, after which they dump everything.

brb, gotta check on my mining rigs.

You will find a consistent pattern among the bitcoinistas that they will always quote the exchange that has/had the highest price. 100% of the time.

Every btc exchange shows a low price over the past 24 hours in the lower $400's except for Coinbase.

Guess which one TH quotes??

Actually, BC closed at $500 on Coinbase yesterday and is now trading around $550 today.

It seems that it hasn't affected as much as the Bitcoin distractors would like it to.

Here is a link to a website that purports to show all of the bitcoin exchanges on one page.

Why is Coinbase not included?

I agree. If it can hold value through this, I'll be impressed.

I don't know that I'm a detractor necessarily, but I'm firmly in the "skeptic" camp.

I am too and as I stated earlier I have been on the Bitcoin train for a long time. I haven't mined any in a while now when the difficulty went up to where it wasn't as profitable to do so.

That might change though as yesterday I bought two of the best graphics cards made right now for mining.

I don't know why some random index site doesn't include coinbase

Yes, and I don't know much about bitcoin either, but "regular banks" are regulated, backed by FDIC (even though for not a huge sum of money), and in many cases in the U.S. bought/bailed out if in trouble.

Most probably because they couldn't figure out a script to include Coinbase into or Coinbase wouldn't allow it. It really could be something as simple as that but in Russians mind it's an ulterior motive and something drastic.
