I want to buy one of these. I want to spend like $100-$120. Do you guys think i should buy a mirco scope or a telescope?

$100 on a telescope will be a COMPLETE waste of money, better off with binoculars, so microscope.

Good telescopes are expensive. Without a good one, they are pretty worthless.

Dude, no real input, but thanks for the gift advice for my nephews and niece. We are going microscopes for Christmas.

I absolutely loved having a microscope growing up. I kept buying more and more kits of slides to look at different stuff. Went to the State Science Fair in 7th grade for a project on making various crystals... some you could only see with the microscope.

All day long. So many more things to explore with a microscope.

Unless you're willing to drop around 600, go microscope.
My meade etx90 telescope is cool, but it's kinda bottom end for a decent telescope.

Good microscopes start at about a grand. The one i use for my micro-photography is nearly 5k.
telescopes are cheaper by far.

I dont use telescopes, just commenting that the cheapo microscopes you see are likely just as bad as the cheapo telescopes.

I figured. Anything decent in both fields is a money bucket for sure.

Well if you get a microscope, you will finally be able to see your penis, so you should get that.

This would be for looking at stuff when I'm bored. Not science. Well I guess that's still science but yall get the idea.

About all you'd be able to see with a $100 telescope is the moon.

I have an 80$ telescope and I can easily spot the moons around Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, Mars, and I had a great view of the lunar eclipse a few weeks back.
Sure a 5k dollar computerized scope will be much clearer but if you're interested in the night sky, it doesn't take much. I do agree though that you would probably be better off with a decent pair of binoculars.
