A federal appeals court on Thursday blocked the release of Brendan Dassey, one of the subjects of Netflix’s “Making a Murderer,” from a prison in Wisconsin while the state appeals a judge’s decision to overturn his conviction on murder and sexual assault charges. Mr. Dassey, 27, was to be freed by 8 p.m. on Friday from Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wis., after a federal judge, William E. Duffin, overturned his conviction in August and ordered his release on Monday.

Bull shite on many levels. It's cruel to jerk someone around like this.

Hopefully he will at least be out by late March in time for Wrestlemania.

Kid is a mentally challenged and a minor. His rights were also violated during interrogation several times.

Its incredibly fricked up he's in adult prison and not some juvenile mental facility. He clearly had no grasp of the severity of the situation.

"You're under arrest for kidnapping and murder"

"Will I miss Wrestlemania?"

He still needs to turn that project in for 6th hour. He's at risk for getting a 0 on that which could negatively impact his future.

The court system, and often times law enforcement, lack ability to admit when they are wrong. This should not be surprising to anyone as it is very typical for the system to operate this way.

Perfect example to why you should never, under any circumstances, ever speak to the police without a lawyer.

Yep. To the sheeple who think he had nothing to do with the murder, they haven't bothered looking at the evidence- just the editorialized product that Netflix put out. That was an infomercial. It was not an unbiased documentary in any way, shape or form and was produced by their defense attorneys.

I admit there were some evidence handling/due process issues and maybe he should get a retrial or re-opening of the file but to think this guy had nothing to do with the murder is just false.

Interrogating a minor is a violation on many different levels. Even if we operate under the assumption he was treated fairly while in custody, what is the evidence he committed rape?

To say the least. Their processing of the scene looked like a freaking 12 year old did it and half of that crap should have been thrown out because of the way it was collected.

Not saying he's innocent, but holy crap were the cards stacked against him from the get go.

I thought corruption was obvious down here, Wisconsin takes the cake with this one.
