Cooter Bay was a good time. The Chandler fella tried to give me stock in the Library Lounge around 94 but I decided to make a career in the construction industry instead.

One in Sulphur was arrested too and this seems like a civil matter to me.

quote:

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested the owners of a Sulphur construction company for overbilling their clients.

CPSO spokeswoman Kim Myers said her office received a complaint Feb. 11, 2016, in reference to a theft regarding Powerhouse Commercial Construction, owned and operated by Ernest Anderson, 50, and Marianne Anderson, 57, both of 1588 Currie Drive, Sulphur.

During the investigation detectives learned the Anderson couple was managing a construction job on 5th Avenue in Lake Charles and had been overbilling the victim’s company. The investigation revealed the terms agreed upon for the construction job were vendor cost plus a 10 percent fee, but the Andersons would charge more than the actual vendor cost was then create fraudulent invoices, add the 10 percent fee and submit it for payment to the victim. The total amount of fraudulent billing is about $230,000.

The investigation was conducted and turned over to the District Attorney’s Office. On Feb. 2, 2017, the Andersons were indicted by a Calcasieu Parish Grand Jury and a warrant was issued for their arrest. They were arrested the next day and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Both were charged with theft of $25,000 or more. They were both released on a $5,000 bond set by Judge Thomas Quirk.

CPSO Detective John Melton is the lead investigator on this case.

I believe he went to Live Oak in Watson. He has two younger brothers James and Tony. James was the mma fighter/I got my arse whooped by off duty cops at the office a few years back. James is in jail now for a stretch. Mark is a total douche though. I always thought he was into slinging those nose beers and the construction biz was a cover up.

I'm glad these assholes are getting what they deserve.

Corruption is a driving factor in soaring insurance prices in all markets.

Everytime a fraud is busted, we all save money.
