This was an incredible OT thread. Crazy day.

Weird that it was 10 years ago. Feels like yesterday. I know it probably makes me a bad Catholic.....but I'm going to crack open the champaign when Dzhokhar Tsarnaev gets the lethal injection.
And I don't think those two screw ups built those bombs on their own either. There's someone else in that area that helped them, and I suspect that traitor Katherine Russell knows.
Much respect for law enforcement's response to that. Even the FBI did a solid job even if they ignored the guardian alert for Tamerlan Tsarnaev in the first place. And the Chinese national Dun Meng should get a plaque or something in Boston for being a brave person. Had he not ran off from that gas station, those two terrorists would have killed him and moved on to another city undetected until they set off another bomb.

Never forget that the Rolling Stone put one of the killers on the cover of their magazine and portrayed him has some kind of celerity. POS magazine run by POS people.

The Watertown police scanner thread was one of the greatest TD threads of all time
It's nuts that a couple of cops from a smaller, quiet suburb ended up being the first contact with the terrorists after the MIT shooting. They were dealing with bombs, dozens of rounds of gunfire, etc in a quiet suburban neighborhood.
Can't believe people in those houses didn't catch any bullets or shrapnel.

I am all for the death penalty, but in this case, I am not opposed to the type of suffering he is going thru in that Colorado supermax prison.
For the last 9 years he has "lived" in a 7 x 12 ft all concrete room where a bright light above his concrete slab bed is never turned off. The only part of the outside world he has seen in that time, for one hour a day, is a small sliver of sky directly overhead a high concrete walled area with a concrete floor. No grass, no trees, no breeze, no stars. Not one living, growing thing. In a recent federal lawsuit he filed over not being able to wear a cap, his attorney argued that his clients mental and physical state has been steadily deteriorating.
And this made me smile.
Also, I REALLY hope that 24/7 light above his bed has a low frequency hum and flickers like a mother fricker.

Rolling Stone rightfully got criticized by everyone for doing that.

I remember the pics of the boat that shite bird was hiding in.
That was one of those rare and justifiable “we ain’t here to arrest you” moments.
Glad that fricker suffered some. Had to be hell to be shot in the throat (I think) and not die. But linger around to be riddled with bullets and wood chips etc. all while waiting for one to hit you in the head.
frick him.

I actually don’t remember the OT thread much.
I was glued to my TV every evening during the manhunt. I had forgotten about the Watertown shootout until watching the documentary last night.
When I think of OT threads about this stuff, I think of the Vegas massacre. I remember waking up around 2-3AM to take a piss. I checked the OT, and at the time that thread was still on page 1.

Truly crazy time. After watching the documentary I get the feeling those pos actually thought they would get away with it.
They had no escape plan until days later when the police released the photos.

Correct. That Rolling Stone cover was a figment of my imagination. Thank you.

Folks should watch the new Netflix documentary on it. This cat is a true hero!

HRT ONLY
I liked that the movie featured HRT coming in and taking over, considering we were all listening to that go down in real time.

It amazes me too. I don’t think people realize that this is the equivalent of Zachary or Baker PD taking on terrorists.
