You could probably make good arguments for Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is underrated because of the extremely affordable cost of loving combined with good job opportunities. I realize that isn't a sexy reason like the access to the outdoors that a place like Denver or Seattle provides, but it makes it a great place to make a living, similar to Houston or Dallas.

That could all change if the libtards pass the statewide fracing ban they want on the ballot this November.
I have hippies knock on my door on a weekly basis to sign stuff and donate money to stop fracking

Colorado is losing points with me because of the California-direction you're going. I'd love to live there but I can't live in a place where I feel like the culture and politics are actively going against me (Cali, Bay Area especially).
Any hope that it won't become progressively worse?

The tree huggers don't stand a chance against the big money fracking companies. Fracking will continue and this will eventually be a non-issue

I assume that is true. But the gun stuff sucked too. I just don't want to see another geographically awesome state wasted.

Totally clueless on this one. What happened?

Liberals are mostly in the Urban Corridor and big money ski towns. The vast majority of CO square miles are more conservative, but it's the Democrats in the population centers that are trying to take over. 5 NE Colorado counties wanted to secede last year because they were sick of their lives being ran by Democrats in Denver.

CO passed a law requiring background checks at buyer expense and magazine capacity restrictions (15 rounds, I think).
Also, Denver bans certain types of firearms, and I'm pretty sure that has been upheld in the state. A number of other states, GA for example, have decisions on the books that say cities and municipalities can't infringe on state firearm rights.
CO is still gun friendly in a lot of ways, but adopting these two worthless measures was very California/Illinois-ish in my opinion.

I'm actually in favor of those changes but am also admittedly somewhat of a libtard

I think I could happily live in SLC. It's big enough to have access to various cultural opportunities (and amazing outdoor opportunities), but small enough to not have to deal with loads of traffic, congestion, etc. Plus, I don't think it's a "hip" city in the way that New Orleans is now, so that's a plus.

I would rather live in SF than LA.
This, but I wouldn't go anywhere near Cali. Cost of living is waaay too expensive compared to other parts of the country.

Just got back from San Francisco and would highly recommend a trip for anyone. The weather did not get above 67 degrees the entire time

So sounds like you just don't like big cities. For me, SF is better than LA in every conceivable way... except for weather, which is admittedly a big deal.
LA isn't a big city?
And I really like SF but while it's more traditionally urban, it feels much smaller than LA to me. There's just lots more to do here.

Haven't read whole thread. With that said don't move to NYC unless you are debt free and making 6+figures. It's not worth it otherwise.

DC is a decent place to live and work but the cost of living is astronomical. Also, the rate of pay in the DC market does not relate well with the high cost of living. The avg 1 bedroom 1 bathroom down down is approx $1500/mo.
