Who do you think is the best bank/fcu in BR and why?

We got a notification from our bank saying they are changing our checking account to one requires a ridiculous minimum balance and there are no other options they can give us. I won't say the bank but they aren't being very "neighborly". I have no loyalty to them at this point and am looking to switch.

Gimme your best sales pitch.

banks suck anymore, I'd check out a credit union that is in a group of reciprocating affiliates

I have used both Neighbors FCU and LaCapitol FCU, and have been pleased with both.

Neighbor's is your best bet in terms of no hidden fees and overall customer service. Their business loan department is also top notch. Highly recommend.

Do you actually need to go inside a bank with any regularity? There's plenty of online only options and you can just keep an account open at the most convenient location for withdrawal and depositing of cash. Capital one 360 has good interest rates on checking and savings accounts, no fees, mobile check deposits, etc. Only time I see the inside of a bank is when I withdraw cash for large purchases.

I guess the "neighborly" comment didn't register.

I use Neighbor's. But they've never threatened me with minimum balances because I fill my account up with cash
