Started growing a beard. Purchased a Slimline Pro for trimming it....problem is, they don't sell guards larger than 3/8". Any recommended sites for aftermarket guards?

And any suggestions for combating beard dandruff?

Thanks in advance....I think.

You're putting too much thought into it.

Just grow it.

I've been growing a beard on and off for 5+ years, and have been bearded for the last two and a half straight. I've never had beard dandruff, ever.

If it starts to itch, rub some conditioner in it when you shower. I use a 3 in 1 body wash and have never had problems.

The only time I trim my own is to cut my mustache hairs back when they get too long. Other than that, I get it trimmed when I get my hair cut every 4 weeks.

Trim it with a razor, hot water, and shaving gel.

Beard oil works for me. Dandruff shampoo works fine too. Head and shoulders, selsun blue, etc.

So you've had bead dandruff before? I never have, and neither have my bearded friends.

ETA Are you prone to regular dandruff?

I'm assuming that if you are, you'd be prone to beard dandruff.

Beard oil or conditioner will keep some of the itch down, never had a problem with dandruff. I don't let mine get very long anymore but when it was and I wanted to trim it back I would use a comb and scissors because my trimmer guard would have been too short.

Yep, but only if I don't use a dandruff shampoo regularly. The beard dandruff is very mild but also easily controlled with the same shampoo.

Comb it. Shampoo it. Condition it. Oil it.

I use hair clippers on mine. Once it gets over about 2" it's time to break out the big gun. Those beard trimmers are only good for the edges and stuff.

When you wash your hair, wash your beard with the same stuff. I've never had dandruff.

This. It's not that complicated. Good luck.

Are you washing your face after muff diving?

If so, stop. Problem solved.
