I admit, that ran through my mind too

It kind of seems like Hendrick does that, he will sell like 50 cars and buy 50 or something crazy.

People downvote random stuff, and Jones has a lot of enemies on here..

Yesterday, every single post of mine had a downvote in a thread asking for Thursday lunch specials. All I did was give lunch special suggestions

They aired an hour long special on the Ron Pratt Collection on Saturday, showcasing some of the cars, memoribilia, etc. They never really gave a reason, just that he planned to sell it all and start flying more. He also has several vintage planes as well as helicopters, etc.

Thats what car forum people have been thinking.

It would be kind of funny if he sold them all and then got them back at a huge discount in a few years. You may have already said but what are the car forum people guessing he will get for his entire collection?

Another amazing vehicle up for grabs is Prattes 1954 Pontiac Bonniville Special concept car which is one of only two ever made. The last time it sold it went for $$3,080,000.00. Some cars were made to take the population to mundane jobs and pick up their kids from soccer practice. Others were made to drop jaws and bring grown men to their knees with horsepower, style and all around awesomeness. The Bonneville is one of those cars.

It looks like it has a jet engine in the back. How fast is that thing?

65 Mustang Convertible

So, yeah, I sat in and cranked this car in Dothan, Alabama exactly a month ago and knew it was bound for this auction at no reserve. It only brought 19K? I shouldve just bought it outright.

He'll likely be dead long before any of the really rare, special items ever come back on the market. Most of these cars will likely go into other high end collections or museums and will never see market again until the new buyer is either dead, or in a financial situation. To see some of these cars come to market in your lifetime is rare, to see an entire collection of this calibar be offered up all at the same time is unimaginable.

Automatic + 6 cylinder killed that car. Had it been a V8 it likely would have doubled in value. With that said BJ has practically a whole day committed to cars that are seemingly affordable to the average joe. No 1 of 2's or super high end show vehicles or customs alot of vehicles in the $15k-$30k range.

Auction of classic cars in North Palm Beach brings in $11. 5 million for owner selling collection

The biggest price tag attached to a 1956 Cadillac convertible, which sold for $299,750 — a new record for a Cadillac convertible.

The second most valuable car was a 1968 Shelby Mustang GT 500 convertible. The hammer went down on a bid of $264,000. “It exceeded our estimates,” Christie said. “Mustangs always sell well.”

Both cars were estimated to be big-ticket items, but not as big as they proved to be. The estimates on both were $150,000-$200,000.

The big money came out for other items as well. A beautifully restored carousel, basically a one-of-a-kind piece, sold for $460,000. Other hot items: a 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala Custom Hardtop Coupe, which went for $198,000; a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Roadster, which also went for $198,000; a large-scale Lionel Train Layout, which took in $103,500.

Thats still an incredible collection. The rarity of some of the cars and items is what puts Pratte's in a league of its own
