The Costco in North Scottsdale

One on Hayden? That's the one I frequent the most. I love that location.

I was at the one in Lafayette last week and saw they had a $25,000 Rolex in the jewelry department.

Please tell me people don't buy Rolex's at Costco.

Correct, probably go to that one 90% of the time and the one on the 101 & Cave Creek Rd the other 10%. The Scottsdale location definitely carries higher end gear. The trick at the N. Scottsdale Costco location is to shop there about an hour before they close, you have the place practically to yourself. Going there on the weekend is a rookie move, it's a zoo.

I think it is shock value purchases. They almost got me with a BGE. I believe it was the "large" for $499? I had ZERO intentions of dropping $500, but damn it they had a good deal?

My brother bought a very expensive Rolex at a terrific price from a dude that had a gambling problem.

I just usually go during the day during the week, like around 11 am. Not as crazy as weekday evenings or weekends.

If you were looking to actually buy a Rolex...and saw the exact one you wanted for 8K less at Costco.....you mean to tell me you would instead spend the extra 8k more and buy it someplace else?

If there was ever a store that you go in looking to spend $100 on an item or two and walk out after spending $500+ then it's definitely Costco.

That being said, It's totally worth it. Have been a member for 17 years

ETA: I've had the executive membership for probably 15yrs. Haven't paid for the membership since we got it. We normally get back a good bit more than the executive membership cost.

One thing I've never been able to find out is what kind of warranty Costco offers on the Rolexes they sell, if any. Rolex is very particular about who sells their watches and there is no way they would stand by a product sold by an unauthorized dealer, which Costco certainly is. Costco is known for standing by their products they sell and I would guess on items they sell for $20k+ they are standing behind it somehow.

Kirkland actually makes their own wines and vodka, not sure about the beer

They have their own beer, it's 20$ for 48, and is just fine for a camp beer. Unless you are the sort of person who thinks bud light is some standard to be held to.

If I'm drinking in quantity all day, I'll drunk Costco beer. No aftertaste, no hangover.

Really a good deal.

Keep an eye out for Stone mixed 24 packs at Costco; $29.99 at mine; they contain:

6 IPA
6 Double IPA
6 Black IPA
6 Citrusy Wit

I never buy IPAs at Costco, with the exception being the Kirkland brand craft beer mixed case (for parties). I have purchased beer there that was very old. Costco does carry local beers (Breakside, Laurelwood, etc...), but I think the breweries give Costco their older stock. I've seen barrel aged beers there at good prices - Black Butte Reserve for $14/bottle, and have no problems buying that.

I live 1 mile from Costco and my wife and I buy as much as we can from Costco. We have 3 kids, and it saves us a ton of money. The only issue I have is, as someone else pointed out, you have to have discipline to stay away from the opportunity buys there. You can easily walk out of there $500 poorer, even though you just went in for a rotisserie chikcen...

Just bought a big arse bottle of Kirkland vodka and some children's Claritin on the way home. Almost grabbed some prime ribeye caps.

You will change your mind when you are old enough to buy it without a fake ID.

I'll take that as a compliment.

Silly Janky.
I break everything when I drink vodka.

What's the price on a big bottle of ibuprofen there? That's what I need most.

No. I just run into things on accident. Like little glass things, or big glass things. Or other things.

Two bottles of 600 at Sam's is like $12.
