I mean, there is a white supremacist house about a mile away from the school. They hold Klan rallies there.

There might be a little racism.

I don't doubt there is a good deal of racist jack assery out there. I saw a recent FB post from the mom of a Higgins football player visiting St. Amant this year. She was shocked at how blatant these grown ups were yelling at their team bus and convoy into the stadium. Damn Shame.

I saw that too and was really surprised to hear it. I've been going to STA games my whole life and I've never heard adults yelling anything of that nature. I've heard students say things, but not adults.

It's a shame that it happened, but I don't feel like it accurately portrays the atmosphere at STA.

They took the sign down years ago. I kind of figured they mellowed out on that stuff.

The whole side of the house/garage was painted with some diatribe.

Sure that guy saw the err of his ways.

Agree. I slang pizza in most of northern AP and the diversity is positive and pretty damned good to see. My son's old football team, The Pville Broncos(plays for school now), was just as diverse as my 80s Perkins Road Park football teams were.

Been several years since I went that way. Off George Lambert road, north of Stringer Bridge.

I might be relocating for work and I was told these are decent areas to move to with small children a little away from the hustle of BR. Is it better to be in the East Ascension or Santamaw school district?

We lived in the Angelle Estates subdivision in Gonzales (off 621) and we loved it. EA system, but small kids were districted to Duplessis Primary and Central Middle, which we were satisfied with. Lots of children in our neighborhood. Easy access to I-10 and Airline. 45 minutes from New Orleans, and close to B.R.

Amant is French, pronounced "Amaw"

Saint became san because of laziness, I suppose?

In the same lazy way "Acadians" became pronounced, "Cajuns."

He's had NFL talent on his team and can barely win a playoff game. It's amazing he's not taken more heat.

St Amant HS has a day care for the students' kids, that's always a plus. And their Future Farmers of America club is parish renowned. Their Volunteer Fire Fighters enjoy lots of lights on their pickups and show up en masse to every fender bender hoping to direct traffic. Speaking of pick up trucks, you'll enjoy the guys booming rap music while wearing cowboy boots, neck tats and having nuts hanging from the trailer hitch.
They are historically almost relevant in football, having gone undefeated a few times before losing in the first round. Good place to be if you enjoy these things.

Hope you're no longer living there if you hate it that much.

That volunteer fire department were the first responders when my dad was having a heart attack and they also put out an electrical fire at my parents' home and contained it to a closet. St. Amant residents are lucky to have them.

That's awesome, there are many good ones. James LeBlanc is a first class guy. I'm talking about the 19 yr olds in it for prestige and getting in the way at every tiny wreck.

I would also like to say for the OP's benefit, that I know hundreds of people in St. Amant and none of them have neck tats or truck nuts.
