Agree. I slang pizza in most of northern AP and the diversity is positive and pretty damned good to see. My son's old football team, The Pville Broncos(plays for school now), was just as diverse as my 80s Perkins Road Park football teams were.
Broncos are who Manny Miles and Ben Miles played for. Two of mine played for St Amant. IMO, ascension Parish should go study Jefferson Parish and Kenner Recreation Depts where all kids play for free. This private leauge, SLYFA is a freakin joke. Not enough teaching , and teams get raped by homer refs at Walker, Zachary etc. And having to pay to try out is a crime. The Parish is large enough to do football right.

I would also like to say for the OP's benefit, that I know hundreds of people in St. Amant and none of them have neck tats or truck nuts.

Fwiw one of the kindest people I've ever met in my whole life is from St.Amant. I've got nothing but good things to say about people from St.Amant.

I'd live in PVille/Dutchtown before Gonzales. And I'd live in Gonzales before Denham.

Lived in Gonzales/prairieville all my life. Love it here. I have family and friends that go to Ascension Christian high school. Great school with an up and coming sports program. Why sit the bench at one of the local public schools when you can be a stud 1a player in a growing sports program. I have seen them make improvements to campus as well recently.

Got hosed at Zachary once. Otherwise, the league was fine by me for the 4 years there. Now he's playing for private school team and then he'll be St Amant for HS.

Eta: son also got to meet OBJ, Dupre, and Harris. Harris threw a pass to each of the 40 or so kids that day. Very cool inspiration for the boys.

I lived most of my life in Ascension Parish. We did move away for a few years for my husband's career. We chose to go back to Ascension and send our kids to St. Amant high school. My daughter is a teacher there and is working on her Master's.

I don't think you could go wrong with any school on the east bank.

We are all very successful adults thanks in part to our Ascension parish education.

My husband and I live in Mississippi now and 2 of my children live out of state also. I think AP is a great place to raise a family. My children loved being raised there but their careers took them elsewhere.

I mean, there is a white supremacist house about a mile away from the school. They hold Klan rallies there. There might be a little racism.

That dude, Tucson Frederic, is about 95 years old (if he is even still alive). They haven't done KKK stuff there since probably 2005? His nut job kids moved out of state. Last I heard his son started a KKK chapter in Oklahoma.
