soccer is the closest sport to watching live performance art on earth. that's the best way to describe it

yea that's what I read about

I don't want to be that guy, but I feel if I'm going to get into a new sport that I've never liked, I need a rooting interest that will provide me with some joy while watching.

My logic may be flawed, but I think it's human nature

ah, the beautiful game. I love watching it. The skill and athleticism it takes is unappreciated by many because there isn't much scoring.

How is it beautiful?

soccer doesn't run plays like football and doesn't have 1,000,000 rules and the same style of play for every team like baseball. the tactics/strategy are adjusted in real time and all the players have to play with a coordination and communication that is beautiful to watch unfold

this is all done without a playbook or commanded movement

calling americans bandwagoners for following big teams is the most retarded argument in sports

And people ask me why I am an Arsenal fan. That, right fricking there is the reason.

Anyone who thinks soccer is boring hasn't watched more than 10 mins of a game. What other sport can you watch on tv with 45+ mins of uninterrupted action (i.e. no commercials!)? Its pure and its exciting

So you're saying you invest 2 hours in a 0-0 game you walk away pumped up and excited?

Good nap time for me
