The reason I started watching soccer is because it's one of the greatest worldwide competitions there is. It's a way to cheer for your country. Then I fell in love with the sport.

Then don't watch. Soccer is a beautiful sport. The more you watch, the more you will realize how impressive some small things are. It can be exciting even if a match ends 0-0. It's a beautiful sport.
Effing this. I used to watch it to go to sleep, because there are no commercials. Then I started understanding the game. It's a great game and fun to watch when you understand what's going on.

If I pick Bayern to start rooting for, how much will people hate me or call me a bandwagoner?

I don't get to watch the soccer channel anymore since I gave up cable, but my favorite player from a few years back was Dimitar Berbatov. He wasn't fast or flashy, but he was a magician around the goal. Always seems to create space and put the ball in the net. Very impressive.

Would be better if the ball was on fire.

I tried to like it. It's too fast for me to keep up, makes me dizzy.

Personally I don't see how one can watch or even enjoy the bloodsport, known as american football. I thought we as society had moved passed the days of the gladiators.
