Anyone been to Kona / Hilo on big Island hawaiii?

Not sure where to stay , let me know if you've been and pros and cons of where you stayed ?

Stay at the Hilton on the big island. Pretty awesome place

King Kam Courtyard is good, had it's own beach and luau area.. Right next to the strip.

I went about ten years ago as a graduation present. The helicopter over the volcano was amazing.

Stayed on both sides. Hilo seemed to have more to do, but Kona was nicer. On Kona side stayed at Hilton, dont remember name of Hilo hotel, but was just average

I stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa north of Kona. I highly recommend it.
This is where you want to stay
If you've never been, try to get out and see some of the sights. Helicopter tour, flowing lava, the Waipio Valley with thousand foot waterfalls, jump off the cliff at Ka Lae (southernmost point in the US).

I ran into Leiland and the airport yesterday in Atlanta. His wife/gf was all tatted up and had a nose ring but she was still pretty hot if you are into that kind of thing. Sorry, no pics.
As far as where to stay, the Marriott on the Kona side is nice. I'm a fan of the Kona side but Hilo is cool for a day or two. I lived in Hawaii for three years and my job required me to travel to all the inslands pretty constantly and the Big Island was my least favorite.
