I worked at a reception hall for a few years and it happened there too. The gifts were kept in a pretty secure place so we were pretty sure it was a employee, also pretty sure which employee it was since he had been long suspected for stealing an Ipad a month or so before from the place of business. No proof, so couldn't fire him for the theft of gift incident but he got himself in trouble for other stuff not long after and was fired. Not sure if the club did anything to replace the stolen gift or cash, forgot which one it was.

Someone stole my backpack - with my shoes and copy of Lonesome Dove - out of the back of my truck at my buddy's wedding.

Not only that, but present table was right by DJ booth. Gonna have a talk with DJ. If something shady was happening, he and his assistant should've seen it... At least I would think so.

I'd have a chat with the asst to the asst DJ.

And if you had a DJ you should have had a money dance.

Personally I think you and the wife have the cash and are trying to get friends and families to donate again so you can double dip.

Get her pregnant in a hurry so you can generate some income on those baby showers.

fricking bullshite. I have no doubt it was some sleezy employee(s) involved in the reception event.

While thats a possibility I'd think, it seems a bit too obvious to be the only possibility. Could have been employee incompetence that led to the theft by another non-employee party.

HAVE NO DOUBT?

Your relatives may include ONE smart drug addict, or a kleptomaniac, or just a sleaze. You don't know who did it.

I don't go to trashy weddings. On a serious note, you may want to suspect a worker there or a teen guest.

For my sisters wedding, all the groomsmen/ ushers got dressed in this room where the wedding/ reception was held. We left our clothes in there and they had a table we left our sunglasses on. There were 7 pair of Costas and a pair of Oakleys. When everything was over, we went in there and only the oakleys were left on the table. Needless to say, we were all pissed. No clue to this day who took them.

Lol makes me think of the Goodfellas scene where Karen is worried about all the cash, and Henry is like no one is gonna mess with it!

Or the Godfather scene where the guy wanted to steal the money but knew he would get killed if he did.
