Wife and I returned from our honeymoon and started opening wedding presents only to find all the standalone cards, that didn't accompany presents, were obviously tampered with. As we've opened them, we've noticed all the cards that made reference to "spend this cash how you see fit" or "use this gift card to get something you'll love" have all the money obviously missing.

Several hundred dollars are missing from what we can tell having talked to various aunts/unless, parents & friends.

fricking bullshite. I have no doubt it was some sleezy employee(s) involved in the reception event.

Any experiences similar in your lives?

Where was your reception? I'd call and have words with them.

This is the most elaborate "look at me, I had sex" thread ever.

Bravo OP.

How did y'all even find out?

And yes, fr33, we're having a face-to-face meeting with the reception hall ownership later. They will be blindsided once I bring it up. Will not be a happy meeting.

Dude they were in envelopes on the present table. Why is your response even relevant? If someone chooses to put cash, etc. in an envelope on the gift table what right does some frick have to go through my shite?

Not saying you shouldn't bring it up with the reception company.. but do keep in mind it may very well be a younger family member.

Kids are retarded. A kid family member of mine stole their own aunt's cell phone at Christmas. Just didn't realize the severity of doing something like that/

Sorry that happened to you.

Unfortunately, I recently had something of pretty good value stolen from my home. Friends, family, a contractor, I just don't know. Foolish of me to trust too many people in my house.

A former employer of mine once told me, "Any man will steal if the value is high enough to outweigh the risk."

Not sure that's true, but it's not too far off, unfortunately.

Congrats on your marriage.

Sorry for that happening to you and your wife during your wedding event - very trashy of whoever it was no matter if they were apart of your party or not.

With that said, my wife uses most of my paycheck every payday, does that count?

Nothing stolen, I just came in to say I made out with $10k in cash alone at my wedding. What was awesome is I didn't even have to pay for the wedding. Now I see why the wedding business is so profitable!

My wife's brother and two friends started having expensive things that they should not have had. A little interrogation from wife and mother in law and he spilled the beans.
