Taking the general GRE test tomorrow, just looking for any last minute advice from those who have taken it. I've looked up the basic layout and subject matter but any advice or tips would be much appreciated!!!

You're too stupid to earn a decent grade. Not even sure why you're bothering.

The math is not regular standardized test math. They completely changed it when they revamped the GRE a few years ago. I actually did much worse on it than when I previously took it to get into my masters program 8 years ago.

Hopefully you prepared.

Remember that you cannot go back. Once you answer a question it is over.

Maybe everyone else already knows this, but I didn't when I took it about 10 years ago. (Yes, I didn't read the directions in the study pack they sent - in fact I didn't even open the study pack.)

I took it like I always do multiple choice tests, I go thru and answer all the straightforward questions and then go back to answer the ones that take more time. I finished up with about 30 minutes remaining to address the ones I had marked for redo (I answered "not enough info") and found that I was done. No go back.

The English section was filled with Analogies between words of which I have never heard.

I guessed on every math problem because I hate math.

Still qualified for masters program.

This isn't true anymore, at least from what my wife told me.

I took the old version, it wasn't too bad.

Don't suck, is the best advice I can give.

The GRE in no way gauges your potential to succeed in Grad school. That being said, I hope you took a bunch of practice tests.

The quantitative section is easier than the verbal. Verbal is like here's a paragraph with 3 blanks. Each blank needs to be filled in with a word you've never heard of in your entire life and no one uses in everyday conversation. Here's a word bank for each blank. Get one wrong and you get no credit for this question.

Test makers can go frick themselves. I'm working in the plant now trying to become an OT baller
