One of the main reasons why Amazon isn't coming here is tech talent pool

Another issue is property values and local push back

Affordable housing is already a hot button issue in New Orleans. Long-time locals are quick to pin blame on young hipster types and a tech-startup-turned-market-disrupter called Airbnb. A surge of 50,000 employees in New Orleans could accelerate the debate.

But such a move would clearly alter the fabric of a city that cherishes and fiercely defends its culture. Forget Airbnb. An Amazon headquarters would be almost certain to spur massive displacement of residents, with the poor most vulnerable.

New Orleans' chance to get Amazon's new facility is only slightly better than Bunkie's.

Deluded New Orleanians need to wake up and smell the Bourbon Street.

There is no chance.

There's not 50,000 unemployed New Orleanians who actually want jobs.

New Orleans isn't even an outside contender.

It's a dump with crumbling infrastructure, horrible schools, and a corrupt government.

Most would have to move here. Two problems: 1) They dont want to move here. 2) The "Long-time Locals" dont want them here.

Nothing like a New Orleans joke thread.

Q: What do Tulane grads use for Birth Control?
A: Their personalities.

Talk about delusional. There are a few people in Houston that think the Astrodome is going to be the new Amazon location.
